The necklace was a huge help. I realized soon enough that I didn't bring enough supplies, and the pendant brought me everything I needed. Thanks, Dad! Even though it was night, I pushed myself forward, propelling myself with the idea of saving Nico. I hadn't even known him for long, and still I felt something strange, strong enough to keep me up at night and stop me from eating. It was like happiness mixed with confusion, agony, and excitement. I felt a rush when I thought about him, and it kept me going. The ring on my hand burned, but I would wear it even if it left scorch marks on my fingers. I would wear it forever if it meant getting Nico back.
