*Lynn- Mrs. Parker, Eli- Dr. Parker*

Nathan's POV:

After my dad slapped me, I ran out of the house. Max found me and brought me to his house. His family looked at us with questioning looks, but Max waved them off leading me to I'm guessing his room. There was a guitar against the wall, a lot of CD's, a giant flat screen tv, and a small black couch.

No bed? I asked Max who led me to the small dark couch.

I don't sleep. Didn't you research me? Max asked smirking slightly.

Forgot. I shrugged

Go to sleep. It's been a rough night for you. I'll go get you a blanket. Max told me. I obeyed, leaning down resting my head. The couch was rather soft so I fell asleep quickly.

Max's POV:

I walked to our closet ignoring Tom who had followed Nathan and I. I pulled out a blanket and went back into my room covering Nathan up. While pulling off his shoes, Tom spoke "What's he doin' here again?"

His father and him had a small agruement. I said. Tom came around and looked at him.

What's with his face? Looks bruised. Tom observed.

His father and him also had a small fight which resulted in his dad slapping a little harder and Nathan running away. Much like you hmm? I said as Tom gave me a stone cold look.

Don't be bringing that up. I'll go tell the other's why he's here. Tom said walking away.

¤Next Morning¤

6:30am

I, like, Jay pulled on fresh clothes to start the day unlike Tom who didn't care and wore the same thing as he did the day before only changing his shirt. It wasn't quite time to start another day at that high school, so Tom, Jay, and I were going on a blood run. Lynn and Eli told me they'd watch over Nathan while I was gone. I thanked them looking over my shoulder once more before running to catch up with Tom and Jay.

Tom and I were competitive over our food trying to out do the other with the better catch. Jay didn't care what animal he got, usually only getting a couple rabbits. Tom won today catching a mountain lion while I caught a deer. Tom growled at Jay who tried to steal some of Tom's food. A second later, Tom just stopped drinking and gave Jay the rest of the lion.

Not fair Jay. Tom said before running off in search of another animal.

Not fair, but totally worth it. Jay said happily. I growled at Jay claiming my food and Jay held his up in defense.

I just wanted the lion I swear. Jay told me. I nodded going back to the dear.

We weren't nice, sometimes attacking each other for food. Tom challenged me more than Jay since I usually get the better animal. Jay rarely did since he didn't want to fight. Jay liked using his gift against us if he didn't want to hunt for himself. Lazy.

We finished our "breakfast" then headed back to the house. Lynn and Eli were just getting ready to leave.

He's still asleep. Are you going with your brother's to school or staying? Lynn asked me.

We'll go. Can't avoid his father forever. I said as they left.

Were going in Tom's car. Jay told me as he and Tom left too.

I sped walked upstairs to my room and sure enough like Lynn had said still asleep. I gently, or at least tried to be gentle, shook him awake. All I had to do was punch him, and he'd be dead. I'd have his blood. The warm taste. Better than my deer earlier.
