HPOV:
She had filled the sink with warm water and was wringing out a wash cloth. I sat down on the space next to the sink. Gently, she took up my hand and began dabbing it across my knuckles. I watched her eyes eyes as they focused intently on her work while she bit her bottom lip.
"Does it hurt?" she said without looking up.
"Not really. I had forgotten about it until you said something." She rinsed the cloth out and brought it back to my hand.
"So you met the guys then?" She nodded with a smile. I could hear Liam laugh and it was comforting to know they were still in the room.
"I feels like I haven't seen them in weeks."
"You're lucky you have them, Harry," she said, pressing a towel to my hand.
"It's just that when I get like this, I feel like I'm in a fog. I can't seem to really remember anything."
"I"m sure they understand. They wouldn't be here if they didn't." She pulled the towel away and checked her work. My hand was clean, making the cuts look not nearly as bad as they did.
"There, all better." She said, tossing the towel into a basket.
"Thank you, Stevie, for everything," I said when I stood up from the counter. I kissed the top of her head and we walked out of the bathroom to join the guys. The room was nearly clean and Stevie helped finish by helping Louis put the sheets back on the bed.
"She get you all cleaned up there, Harry?" Niall asked as he came up beside me. I pulled on a shirt then showed him my hand.
"She's awesome; really genuine. She's not going to put up with your shit."
"I know," I said, watching Liam throw a pillow at her. She laughed and immediately returned the pillow into the back of his head. I felt Niall's hand on my shoulder.
"She'll be good for you and we all want to see you happy again."
I gave him a smile, "Thanks, Niall. Honestly."
"Of course," he said with a crooked smile, "Now, I'm hungry. Who else is hungry?" As the guys yelled their responses, Stevie walked over to me.
"I didn't realize how late it was" I said to her.
"Shit!" She ran over to her bag and pulled out her phone. She started tapping the screen and then held it up to her ear. She turned around as she spoke into the phone. I watched her until a pillow came crashing into my head. I looked to see who it was but they were all pointing to each other. I bent down and picked it up.
"Oh shit," Liam said and I took off, holding the pillow over my head.
SPOV:
"I'm sorry again, Ross. Trust me, I'll be there first thing tomorrow."
"No problem, Stevie. You know you have me wrapped around your finger," he said,
"Bet your ass, I do." I laughed and we said our goodbyes. I hung up and noticed I had an email. It was from Gemma saying that she was sorry and that she had to reschedule for the same time next week due to a conflict. I quickly typed out a response and hit 'send'. Suddenly, I felt arms wrap around me from behind.
"Everything okay?" Harry said into my ear.
"Yeah, I just had to call one of the businesses and apologize for not making it today."
"I'm sorry," he said as I turned around.
"No, don't be. I'll just go in tomorrow since I don't have the interview." He raised his eyebrows.
