There’s something quite special about writing in a diary. I’ve always found that to be the case, at least. Maybe it’s the thrill of describing the magical things in your life, putting quill to paper and etching the first words on the page, which is what I intend to do.
My name is Kristina-Marie Annabelle Cox, and I’m in my third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I doubt I’ll ever forget my name, but it might be useful to put what year I’m in, in case I want to look back at this when I’m old and grey, to see what adventures I got up to.
As with every diary I have ever written, I’ll start with a bit about myself at the beginning. As I said before, my name is Kristina-Marie, but most people call me Kristina. Only my closest friends are allowed to call me Kris.
There are only 5 people allowed to call me Kris; outside of my family, that is. The first is my long standing childhood friend, Sirius Black. Although he is three years older than me and in 6th year, we live near each other outside of school, and usually get on well.
The others are James Potter and Remus Lupin, Sirius’ friends. Together with Peter Pettigrew, they make a gang called the “Marauders” – and maraud they do! I often help them with their plots, so reader, you have been warned!
Also in Ravenclaw, my best friend since FOREVER is called Amelia Lucas. We get on so well! I remember when we first met, it was a shock to both of us we had never seen each other before, because we are so alike! Amelia is my partner in crime – and believe me, I can cause a lot of trouble!
The other person allowed to call me Kris is – of course – myself. Technically, I can’t be my own family, because I can’t be related to myself – I AM myself!
So, what are my favourite hobbies at the moment? Well, other than sneaking into the Forest with Amelia and various Marauders, I spend a lot of time studying. Don’t get me wrong, I live in the moment – and I mean, in the centre of the moment – but I could never let my school work suffer on account of my pranks. I guess you could call me a nerd.
Obviously, I’m in Ravenclaw, so I’m super smart, like my brother in 5th year, but I am also one of the most reckless people you will ever meet. Although my quick thinking often saves me from punishment (not being boastful or anything), you could say that most of the sticky situations I get into are my fault. I blame the sun. I always seem to be in trouble when you can’t see the sun.
This has got to be one of the longest introductions to myself I have ever written, but I really have to go now, because I can hear Amelia calling me from down the stairs to lunch. Can’t have it all, I guess!
