Chapter 4

Chapter 4 -

After tons of curling, doing make up, and dressing all up, it was time for my date. Just as Megan finished doing the last curl, we heard a knock at the door.

I got up and ran towards the door.

"Wait! You don't wanna seem desperate. Don't forget lipgloss!" Megan shouted at me from the bathroom.

Megan ran out of the bathroom holding lipgloss in her hand. She put it on me.

"Perfect!" Megan stated, pleased at her work.

Megan ran back into her room to get something. I walked towards the door casually. I swung open the door to see the most attractive man I have ever seen. Jake was wearing a tux and the fedora he bought from our store.

"Wow! You look...Wow!" Jake was speechless.

"Thanks! You too," I laughed.

"You ready?" Jake asked, still in shock.

Jake walked towards the elevator. I was just about to close the door when Megan stopped me from closing it.

"You don't wanna forget this," Megan said, handing me my purse, "I put some lipgloss inside. Just in case."

"Thanks! You're a life saver," I told her.

"I know. Don't stay out too long, you crazy kids." Megan laughed.

"Okay," I played along.

I closed the door and walked quickly over to the elevator. Jake was standing inside, holding the door.

"Sorry, forgot my purse." I apologized.

"That's okay. I had to fix my hair, anyways." he teased.

Just before we arrived downstairs, Jake pulled the same pair of sunglasses he had the other day out of his pocket. He put them on. He saw me looking at him.

"Don't want anyone to know who I am," Jake explained.

"Yah, you don't wanna get attacked my crazy fans or anything," I joked.

He didn't laugh.

"Exactly!" he agreed.

We walked out to the parking lot next to the apartment complex. I looked around for a car.

"Right here," Jake said, opening the door of a black Audi.

"Oh my goodness! This is your car!?" I said as calmly as possible.

"Yup." he replied.

I stepped into his car, still in shock. What kind of average guy from New York can afford a car like this? Unless...he's not an average guy from New York.
