Chapter 12 -

"Sorry. I was just texting Jake," I apologized.

"I want to meet this guy you're madly in love with. How about we go on a double date? That way we don't have to worry about which guy we meet first. What do ya say?" Megan asked.

"I can't. He's actually taking me out today..." I stated.

"Oh. What about tomorrow?" Megan tried again.

Uh oh. What should I say? I can't tell her he's leaving.

"I got work tomorrow," I covered.

She started to open her mouth again and then stopped, realizing I wanted to change the subject.

"So, you wanna help me pick out an outfit again?" I said, trying to break the silence.

"Sure!" Megan's face lit up.

"Okay. Let's get to work then!" I continued.

"Alright then. I'll be back in a sec," Megan walked back into her room.

Megan came out of her room carrying a vintage looking dress. It was aquamarine.

"Don't worry. I can alter it to make it more suitable for you," Megan answered the look on my face.

"You go put on some make up and I'll get to work," Megan promised, "No peeking!"

Megan took the dress back to her room and I went back to the bathroom to do my make up.

"There. Perfect." I said admiring myself in the mirror.

"Ahhhhhhhh," Megan squealed from the other room.

I ran out of the bathroom into Megan's room. Megan was standing there holding my dress, and as soon as she looked up to see me standing there, she started crying.
