Chapter 8 -

I walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed the tub of Cookies N Creme icecream. I sat down on the couch and ate my sadness away.

After finishing half of the tub, I went over to the counter and grabbed the tv remote and went back over to the couch. I turned on the tv and, of course, it was on the Gossip Channel.

I was about to turn the channel when I saw a picture of me and Josh kissing. My jaw dropped and I turned up the tv volume.

"I'm Laura Jacobs. I'm here with the latest news on Josh Hutcherson. Josh was spotted earlier this evening kissing a girl in New York. Who is this girl and what is Josh doing in New York? Go online and take the poll," stated the reporter.

The reporter changed to another topic. I changed the channel to HBO and started watching "The Notebook". This movie always makes me sad. If only love really happened like this. I started crying.

I laid down on the couch and slowly fell asleep.

...

The sound of someone slamming their apartment door woke me up. I looked over at the clock. It was a little bit after midnight. Megan is probably home now. I must not have heard her come in.

I walked over to her room and looked to see if she was home. I opened the door and there was no one there. Where in the world is Megan?

Megan has never been out this late, except for that one time where her car broke down. I started freaking out.

"She's fine. She's probably just stuck in traffic," I gave myself a pep talk.

"No. Dylan wouldn't hurt her. Megan would never go out with a guy that could put her in danger. Would she? I mean, things like this happen. What should I do? Call the police?" I continued trying to figure things out.

Suddenly, I heard the elevator doors open. I'm just hoping and praying right now that it's her. I ran over to the door and opened it. My eyes grew big and my jaw dropped. There stood Megan and Dylan, kissing in the middle of the hallway.
