Chapter 18 -
"Would you like some more water?" the waitress interrupted.
"Sure. Now, what were you saying?" I was too anxious to wait any longer.
"Wait. I almost forgot," Jake pulled a long black box out of his pocket.
"Open it," Jake handed me the jewelry box.
I opened the box to see a beautiful necklace with a long silver chain and a silver "J".
"Oh my gosh!" I hugged Jake.
"Do you like it?" Jake asked.
"I love it!" I kissed Jake on the cheek.
"Now to the news...Caitlyn, will you come back to California with me?" Jake asked nervously.
"Wow. You want me to move to California with you?" I asked.
"Yah. The plane leaves tomorrow," Jake said.
"Well, I've always wanted to live in California. What about Megan? Where would I live?" I asked.
"I already have an apartment picked out for you. There's plenty of room for Megan," Jake started.
"Megan loved it here. She would never leave New York..." I said, disappointed.
"I could fly you back to New York to visit her anytime, and she could always fly out to Cali," Jake replied.
"Really!? You would do that for me!?" I started getting excited.
"Yes. Besides, what would Dylan do without her?" Jake laughed.
"Well, we don't have much time. I gotta get home so I can pack!" I grabbed my things and got up.
"Let's go then!" Jake walked me towards the door of the restaurant.
I looked at my phone to check my messages. I bumped into someone, not paying any attention.
"Oops! Sorry!" I apologized, looking up.
"Oh. My. Gosh!" Megan exclaimed.
