We were waiting for the gate to drop, I was luckily in the first heat of tonight and hopefully it goes well for me. Thirty seconds later everyone was off, I managed to stay in the middle of the pack going over jumps and staying on the bike. I passed the Austin kid as he was flying off his bike and into the side I laughed a bit well on my way. "You finished seventh." Shawn said getting onto my bike and I drove us to the tent. "That was a good first race rookie." Ken said while I couldn't get a smile off my face. "You are happy." Cole then said noticing my face. "Yeah, I'm doing something I love and Austin fell." I told them. "We noticed that Austin fell." Shawn said.
"I may have laughed at him for a split second." I told them, then my family came up to us. "You did wonderful pumpkin, seventh isn't bad for your first race." My dad said. "Yeah that was good racing." Adam said. "Thanks you guys." I said hugging everyone. "Let's go get some sleep." My mom said and we went back to the hotel. "I had a run in with one of the riders." I told Sebastian as I was rooming with him tonight. "What happened?" He asked getting mad. "We ran into each other and he said 'hey watch where youre going' angry and I said I had to get my bike and he said 'a girl ha good luck trying to be up front' before leaving." I told him.
We then went to my other brothers room and then we all went to our parents room and they all knew what happened with Austin. "If anyone fights him I'm going to get into trouble so please don't do anything." I told them. "Fine we won't." Keith said. "Thank you, I love racing." I told them smiling. I then went back to my room and got ready for bed. "Hey sis." Seb said. "Yeah bro?" I questioned looking at him from my bed. "Thank you for going pro, we didn't really want to go pro, not really have a social life, always riding with practicing, races, game plans and what not." He said. "Good thing you didn't turn pro then." I replied before going to bed.
"Airley come on we have to pack so we can go home." Keith said. "Last night was amazing." I replied before getting up. "It would be for you but you have to pack then we can go get breakfast." Keith said before I packed and we went to go eat. "So how was your first race rookie?" My mom asked while we ate. "Now that I've had time to process everything, amazing I wish I could go back and relive that moment." I replied smiling. "You were great now we can go home and focus on San Diego." My dad said. "Yeah with online schooling I can do that." I replied. I then smiled with my family around and my first pro rookie race in the books.
"Adam come on you're going to make us late again." My mom said which made me laugh. "What's funny Airley?" My mom asked. "Yes Airley what's funny?" Sebastian asked sarcastically. "You do realize I'm actually your daughter and you just told your son to hurry up right mom?" I questioned. "Oh my god you're right." She said before the two brothers who were ready started laughing. "So what are you doing about that Austin kid?" Adam asked when he was finally ready. "Nothing, I'm just leaving it for now and if he doesn't stop whatever I'll talk to him." I told them. "Just remember you could always find him during the week." Keith said.
"That is true, that can't hurt my championship chances." I said thinking about it. "It may hurt his, being tackled by you is interesting." Sebastian said. "Yeah thanks to you three." I replied. After we got to the airport we went through everything in time for us to sit then our flight to be called. "Thanks to the youngest boy we were almost late." Keith said shaking his head. "Are you sure you're a boy?" I asked. "Ha ha of course I am." Adam replied smacking my hand away from messing his hair. "Hey." I said. "You have to have faster hands than that." Keith said before everyone left the chairs where we were so I races to catch up to them.
"Come on do I have to sit between Sebastian and Adam?" I asked. "Yes." My mom said from in front of us. "At least I don't have to sit beside our parents." I said before sitting down in between my brothers getting ready to not be able to sleep. A little while later we were off back home to Kansas.
