i lay awake in my bed that night thinking of the boy. not only the way he looked, but the way he spoke, the way he walked, the way he was ... himself. never had i seen someone so magnificent. even when i was showing him the campus, just the way he stared at the lockers and the floor tiles was stunning. just the thought of being able to talk to hoseok tomorrow was enough to put me asleep.

my eyelids parted as the morning light and fresh smell of linen flooded my senses. today i would get to see him. today i would get to talk to him.
                                ---

"hey yoongi!" seokjin called when my eyes darted to the table we usually sat at. i made my way towards my seat and placed my tray down. jimin scooted closer to me on the bench and took a peek at my meal. what did he want?

"are you okay, hyung?" jimin asked while i looked around the cafeteria for hoseok.

"yeah, uh- where's hoseok?" i had told the boy yesterday where we sat and to sit with us ~ where could he be?

"does it matter? we already have enough-"

my eyes widened at hoseok's presence. he was wearing a red bomber jacket with a red turtleneck underneath and white vans on his feet. truly impeccable.

"hello!" he chirped as he sat down. the other boys smiled at his warm greeting. well, everyone except for jimin. i peered over at the boy to find an irate expression plastered on his face. what was angering him? should i ask?

"jiminie are you oka-"

"i'm going to the bathroom." he said as he forcefully lifted himself from his seat and sashayed away.

"is he okay?" namjoon asked, his eyes darting around the table amidst silence following his question. i cleared my throat and continued eating my kimchi. what is jiminie's problem?

once lunch was over, i made way towards the bathroom along with jungkook to see if jimin was there.

"jimin!" jungkook called in the small room, his light voice echoing from every wall. there was no response until jimin came out from a stall and washed his hands without making eye contact with either of us.

"jiminie!" jungkook gasped as he ran out of the bathroom following jimin. i shuffled out of the bathroom, completely confused. but by that time, it was time to go to history, which i had with jimin. maybe then i could crack his emotional puzzle.

"it's hard to explain, yoongi hyung." jimin said, looking down at his desk and rustling his small fingers through his tangerine hair.

"sounds to me like someone is jealous." our group partner, baekhyun said. shit. he was listening the whole time.

"no, it's - it's..." jimin stuttered as he smacked his hand on the desk. "i don't want to be out shined by hoseok. i can already tell he's going to be popular."

"so it's about popularity now, huh?" i asked, eyeing jimin. he's definitely jealous. he just doesn't want to admit it.

"you know what i mean!" he yelled. the whole classroom peeked to see what was going on.

"okay then." i whispered. i saw from the corner of my eye that baekhyun looked just as confused as i was.

"let's get to work." he said under his breath. it was something more than just popularity. definitely.
