CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Morning came, Josh and I weren't addressing each other.

"So, Annabelle, Josh. Do you guys want to watch a movie tonight?" Amelia suggested. "It'll like a double date." We did not respond.

After breakfast, I went to the pool and let my feelings work the things I was angry about, I pushed my feelings deeper, I felt fire worked through me. I opened my eyes and saw the pool turned into a hot melt lava and it was rising higher and higher, but not daring to touch the surface.

I pushed my angry feelings deeper.

"Sometimes, the happiest memory or thought is more powerful than anything you could ever expect." A voice close behind me said___Josh. I turned and faced him. "You should try it." He suggested.

"Maybe another time." I said. I passed by him and he caught my wrist.

"I went to your room yesterday to apologize, but you were sleeping." He said. I simply stared at him. "I'm sorry." He apologized, I was in a little awkward position. I used my power and my phone rang. I met his gaze.

"I have to get this." I simply said and left him.

"Allo." I said to no one on the phone. I picked up 'Allo' from my dad. "Oh hey, how are you?" I started climbing the stairs, but looked back and saw Josh watching me. I ignored him and went to my room.

"I don't care about what problem you two have, but we're going to watch a movie." Amelia said, pushing me on a seat next to Josh. We were watching a scary movie.

BANG

I let myself close up to Josh. He put his arm around me and pulled me closer to him.

"I'm scared." I whispered in his ear.

"Don't be." He whispered back as his arm tightened around me. I let my lips brushed down his cheek, he turned his face toward mine. We let our eyes met, his blue-violet eyes boring into mine.

Suddenly, he was kissing me aggressively, this time, I didn't kiss him back, I let him kiss me two more times before I broke away and put some distance between us.

After the movie, we found Alec sleeping. I told Amelia to go get makeup and to video tape this. While Amelia was videotaping me putting makeup on Alec, we could not stop laughing, and every time we would laugh, we would shush each other.

Josh walked toward Alec.

"He looks like a clown." He said. His face was inches from Alec's. "Wake up, clown-boy, wake up little clown. There is a birthday you should attend to."

Suddenly, Alec's head snapped up and his and Josh's lips met. Amelia and I gasped.

"Oh, come on dude." Josh half yelled.

"What's going on?" Alec asked sleepily. He rubbed his eyes, then. "What's this?! Is that makeup?" We all cracked up.

"Well, I'm gonna go in." I said, avoiding Josh's gaze. I went to my room and took a quick shower.

I was putting on my bra when my bedroom door opened and Josh came in, he was taken aback once he saw me.

"Dude, what are you doing here?" I asked accusingly.

"Sorry." He said and was about to leave when___
