Today was December 7, it was a Saturday and kind of cold. I was in my room reading a book, Its title was 'hush hush'. My mom was downstairs talking to my dad on the phone. It was one, seventeen pm and I was enjoying my book.

Four days ago, was Josh's eighteenth birthday, in three days from now, it would be my birthday.

My bedroom's door opened, it was my mom, she had a serious look on her face.

"Mom, are you here to make more plans for my birthday."

"Actually, no." She said. "I'm here to talk to you about your dad."

''Oh yeah, can't wait to do our father-daughter things and to see his face when his baby girl finally turns eighteen." I said giggling.

"About that. I think we need to have a little talk.' My mom said sitting on my bed. "Promise me you'll not overreact.''

"Mom, what's going on?" I asked a little bit panicking. "You're not getting a divorce, are you."

"No, of course not. Just promise me you won't overreact."

"I don't know if I can promise anything."

"Well, okay. I was talking with your dad." She said. I nodded. "And honey, I'm sorry but___ you see, we had a really serious conversation."

"Mom, just spit it out." I said impatiently.

"He won't make it for your birthday." There was a dead silence for fifteen seconds.

"WHAT!!"I exclaimed.

"He tried everything he could, but he won't make it."

"Let me guess, he has business to do." I said arrogantly. "His business is more important than his daughter."

"Annabelle, what are you talking about." My mom exclaimed. "He's always there for you, emails you, video chat with you and he was always there for your birthdays."

"Well, he wasn't there for my seventeenth birthday and he won't be here for my eighteenth birthday. It's like his business is more important than me." I picked up my sweatshirt and left my room, my mom followed me.

"Annabelle, where are you going?"

"Out." I said. What I needed was a distraction, and I knew perfectly who could be my distraction.

Josh.

I headed to his home, I didn't even bother knocking on his front door. I went upstairs to his bedroom, he was drawing on his drawing-journal, he looked up and saw me. He put his journal away, I took off my sweatshirt and threw it away.

"Anna, are you okay?" He asked. He was worried. I walked toward him, pulled him toward me and kissed him. He put his arms around my waist and kissed me back. We kissed more for a few seconds before I pushed him into his bed and climbed on top of him.

We kissed some more, but I wanted more than just kiss him, I wanted a distraction, so with that, I took off my shirt.

"Annabelle, I don't think this is right." Josh said. I looked down at him before standing up and put my shirt on quickly.

"What." I gasped.

"You are trying to have sex with me." Josh said sitting up.

"So." I said confused but hurt that he didn't want to have sex with me.

"Look." He said standing up. "It's not like I don't want to have sex with you....I do."

"Then what's the problem?" I asked. He kind of looked hurt. He looked deep into my eyes.
