I honestly would prefer them as friends, but I do get the concept of it. Steven was the first one to ever care about Lapis and set her free from the mirror. What is with TV shows that I enjoy with trapping characters in a mirror? Anyways, even though I haven't seen season 3 and season 4, only certain episodes, I think they could work as a couple. But I like like to look at it more from a mother-son or sister-brother type of relationships. Lapis is one of my favorite characters and I think that she's more capable of being bad-a** enough on her own. SHE CAN CONTROL THE FREAKING OCEAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
I like them as a BrOTP. Especially in this short (this short is positively hilarious) You can see how Lapis really cares about Steven here, even if it's just a joke.
PS Pinky Weenie Lion is just adorable.
