This is for sure my OTP for Voltron. Even though I love them in the show, I actually fell in love with this more because of fanworks. There are so many creative people in this fandom for this ship is amazing, and this is also the reason why I gave this show a try. Anyways, let's go over this amazing ship.

For those of you who watch the show, you know that Lance and Keith's "rivalry" is one of the funniest and most enjoyable things about VLD, and to us Klance fans, it comes off as flirting. Which is actually looks that way to anyone who doesn't actually watch the show. But even though Lance is hard on Keith, he still is a very supportive friend to him when it's needed.

For example, when the Black Lion chose Keith instead of him, Lance was there to encourage Keith to do it. And the tables were turned once Keith had a good talk with Lance, telling him that he deserves to be apart of the team. The smile they shared at the end of that scene is so heartfelt. (And it's also my favorite Klance scene of all time)

In Season 7, their relationship does take a little more light that I like to notice (could just be shipping goggles). One of the obvious is Keith and Lance choosing each other to leave Garfle, Warfle, Snick. Even though Keith looks annoyed with his arms crossed, it's complete and utter bullshit that "He just doesn't want to spend all of eternity with Lance". If that was the case, why didn't choose himself? But the best part of that specific scene is Lance calling him the future, which is so cute. Another scene to point out is that our Sharpshooter says this very harshly: "Keith, you ran away, maybe you should've stayed away." I think why he said so harshly is that it truly hurt Lance that his friend left. After all, even with Keith gone, he was still the odd one. Pidge had Hunk, (later on) Allura had Lotor and it felt like "Shiro" and Coran had gained a bit of a bond as well. Keith was the only one that he really had a true bond with.

Let's get into my thoughts on the S7 "romantic" things. (Going over it here because I don't want to rate them) For me personally, I didn't get super pissed off about the Kacxa thing, mainly because it was clear that Keith only thought of Acxa as a superior, and we didn't even know if Acxa thought of Keith romantically. Her ex-teammates could've been exaggerating for all we know. Allurance, however, is a different story. I've always enjoyed two things about their relationship: 1. When Allura got annoyed with Lance flirting with her, I always thought it was funny. 2. Their friendship grew as the series went on. But then S6 happened. THAT was a line that I really didn't like. It made no sense as to when or how Lance's crush on Allura was anything but a crush. It annoyed me for two reasons: 1. I'm a Klance and Lotura shipper but I'm typically nice. 2. There wasn't development for this to make much sense. In S7, that only pissed me off more. WHEN OR HOW DID ALLURA GET FEELINGS FOR LANCE! She was never interested in him romantically so why now?

But why do I bring this up? Because Keith didn't seem interested in Axca as I said, like, at all. As for Lance and Allura, it seemed like it pissed Lance off when Veronica kept bringing up the "romantic" relationship between them. It seems like Lance wants to move on from Allura, even though he still likes her. But let me bring up the one scene that I previously mentioned and then two other ones I didn't bring up.

Look at Lance's face when he calls Keith the future.

That's not a normal look when talking about your teammate as just a friend. That's a romantic look.

Then there's another thing. In the fourth episode, when Keith and Acxa seem like they're having a "romantic moment", if you look really closely, you can see Lance actually looking jealous. I actually didn't notice until another fan pointed it out and it was in fact true. I might sound like an optimistic Klance shipper (which I am but I try not to be toxic), but why would he be jealous of something like that? Sure, someone could say that Lance doesn't trust her, but I really don't think that was the case here.

Now for the only Klance scene of S7 that I haven't mentioned. Okay, so in Episode 3, Acxa helps Coran get the paladins (including Krolia, Shiro (who isn't a paladin anymore, and Romelle) out of a prison that her ex-teammates put them in, in order to torture them. Keith puts Lance in charge of leading the team while he goes help Acxa and not leave her behind. And Lance gives this expression:

This kind of expression is a mix of two things: Jealousy and worry. Lance is obviously jealous here because Keith is going off to save someone else. But he's always genuinely worried for his friend, who is going off alone. If this was truly just a bromantic thing, Lance would be animated to look more annoyed. Not like this.

For me, Klance is the superior ship/couple of the whole fandom. Yes, I've made it VERY clear that I hate toxic shippers, as I've said with both Darise and Bughead (Darise shippers are definitely nicer however), and Klance definitely has the much more toxic shippers. But guess what, there are toxic shippers for every ship in this fandom. Except for Hunay and (maybe) Punk, they're super pure and I respect them highly. Anyways, these two have way more chemistry than any of the other relationships for Keith and Lance (Shiro and Keith clearly see each other as brothers Sheith shippers!) Their bond is the one with the most growth, going from "rivals" to being close friends (with the potential of being lovers).

Klance is canon king, afterall. Even if they don't become romantically involved, I'll always love the creators for giving me these two as well as all the fanwork for these two that helped me want to try this show out.

This was probably more of an analyzation of their relationship specifically in Season 7 and that are plenty of other moments that I love, but I might save that when I give my thoughts of Season 8 when it comes out.

Well, S8 came out (in case my ranting hasn't gotten your attention yet). I will be posting spoilers so be warned. And boy were my boys done dirty! Sure, their scenes were probably the best part, and Keith looks at Lance with so much love.
