(Trust me, I did NOT want to download that)

In honor of Season 8 coming out in 6 days. Might update after the last season.

Princess Allura of Altea and Lance McClain (or Serrano) from Voltron: Legendary Defender

Their friendship: 7/10

Their romance: -100/10 (I still like it more than Bughead however)

Update on their romance: -10000000000000000000000000000/10

Fun fact: I didn't actually mind them at first, even as a Klance shipper. Of course, I still cringed like Allura did whenever he flirted with her in the earlier seasons, but as a somewhat Lance stan, I couldn't resist it at all. As the show went on, I grew to start appreciating their friendship a lot more. It's the probably the best in S3 or S4, because they're at their purest there. In S5, no one judge me, but I loved Jealous Lance when it came to Lotor and Allura. But only in Season 5!

There, it was honestly funny to me and just seeing everyone get frustrated around him in the last episode (my favorite episode of S5 BTW), it was really funny.

But then Season 6 came along. I was already a Lotura shipper and I still haven't forgiven the writers for what they did to Lotor yet, so we'll see how it goes. Anyways, seeing Lance act all sad about Allura all the time in that season honestly really hurt to me. Seriously, baby blue Sharpshooter deserves the world and it physically hurts when something bad happens to him. I don't complain about it as much as other people but, when did Lance completely fall in love with Allura? Trust me, he deserves love, but I rewatched the whole series 3 times last month (which was probably a bad idea), but there was no signs of him falling in love.

Sure, he would always get jealous whenever someone else made a move on Allura, but he's always been like that. But the reason that it actually was beneficial to his character, is that it actually tapped more into his insecurities again, which we hadn't really seen in awhile. Lance maybe come off as a very simple character at first, but as you go along, there's a lot more to him. One example is that fact that Lance sacrificed himself for Allura, almost dying for her. (I hate watching that scene, not because of Allurance, but because it gives me serious chills)

The scene between him and Allura in Episode 7 (I think) of Season 6, it actually breaks my heart because of the expression that Lance has throughout the entire scene. Even though it hurts for him to talk about her and Lotor, he's still there for her as a friend and a potential lover. Even though I'm a definite Klance shipper, Allura and Lance both deserve someone to be there.

But we come to my next point.

Season 7. I actually loved this season, despite what most of the fandom said (Shippers are so weak sometimes *rolls eyes*). If you read my last rating, about my OTP, you'll understand that I will be talking about the rushed romance between the two of them. Even though Lance didn't really show that much interest in her in that season, it was quite opposite for her. But the thing is, it wasn't until the last 3 episodes that we see her show any interest in him.

Which honestly doesn't make sense. In the game show episode, she can't so frustrated with him that she yelled at him to stop talking. Um, excuse me? Trust me, I tell people to stop talking all the time but I don't yell at them, and in such a rude manner. Besides, why would you do that to someone you're supposed to like? And also, when she told him to stay safe while they went off to connect with their lions, it clearly confused him (Veronica wasn't much help either). It kept him from truly being able to connect with Red and it led to one of the saddest scenes in the show. Much later, Lance literally turns Red's head just to look at Allura. Trust me, that's a cute moment, but we really didn't need to see that.

Okay, so as you can tell, I was being really respectful to these two and doing a peaceful analysis of their relationship for the time being. Who knows, if they are going on a date in Season 8 (not sure but it's in the trailer), maybe it'll be beneficial to to both of their characters. It's only in 5 days and I'm both excited and scared.

Whether these two become canon or not, I just Lancey-Lance to be happy, even if it's not with my OTP. His happiness is so much more important than my stubborn ass that hates it. But again, I might add more after Season 8, same goes for Klance or any of my future rates. TTFN, ta ta for now!

Update on 1/1/2019 (SPOILERS FOR SEASON 8 IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET)

Okay, I have very strong opinions on a lot of things. This ship in Season 8, is one of the main things currently. They were written so horribly in Season 8, to the point that I had to skip over their scenes bc I just didn't care at all. I'll respect other people's opinions on it, but I really can't like it any way, shape, or form now. And it doesn't help that my freaking father of all people thinks that the ship made sense. I was totally okay with them being a thing, as long as it didn't ruin either of their characters or become too much of a focus.

And they did that! On purpose! Lance was reduced to a love interest, Allura not really caring much about the relationship. Before her sacrifice, she told Lance she loved him, but IT MADE NO SENSE! Allura, your feelings had ZERO build-up. Allura and Lance were screwed over so much in this season, both becoming completely OOC. I'm not a big fan of Allura (I prefer Pidge and Romelle more), but she honestly scared me this season! Not as much as Jughead scared me in specific episodes but OMG. As for Lance, his whole world basically centered around Allura and that really bugged me. But you know something funny? LANCE ALWAYS LOOKED SAD IN HIS SCENES AS ALLURA'S BOYFRIEND! (That part was weird, I felt bad for my Sharpshooting son)

Their relationship wasn't good for either of them. Allura deserved to be happy, but she also needed to heal her broken heart. Not make it seem like she was using Lance to make herself feel better (still mad about what they did with Lotura and Lotor). As for Lance, he deserved to be able to freaking get over Allura and move on with his life. Not become a quiznacking farmer that mourns his dead girlfriend for the rest of his life!

Their relationship was just annoying to me, to the point that it almost beats Bughead for my top NoTP (and that's a really high level). I still appreciate their friendship, but the producers can go fuck themselves for being immature and screwing Lance over (to punish the Lance stans) and using Klance as queerbait.

I still love Voltron very much, don't get me wrong, but the characters, ships, the voice actors, and the crew deserved better than Lauren and Joaquim.
