38. You're Shorter Than Him

Harry:

And you hate it. You hate having to ask him for help to reach the top shelves in stores to get the things you want; you hate having to ask him for help to reach the top cabinets in your own kitchen. You hate how he smirks about it, how he’s so happy that he’s able to help you. He doesn’t mean to make you mad by smirking, he’s honestly just glad to help you out, but you don’t care – you hate it nonetheless.

Liam:

And he doesn’t mind. He’s never really cared for it, because the way he sees it, something as miniscule as height shouldn’t get between your relationship. He doesn’t think it matters all that much in the long run anyway, because it doesn’t change the fact that he loves you with every bit of his being.

Zayn:

And he loves to tease you about it, but he’s always sure not to take it too far. He knows that you can take a joke or two, but he doesn’t want to hurt you, so he’s sure not to take his mocking too far. He occasionally jokes about it in the nonchalant way he always jokes; not really meaning what he says when he calls you names.

Louis:

And he had never really given it all that much thought, because it wasn’t really something that crossed his mind all that often. He was used to girls being around his height and he didn’t mind that you were shorter than him. He hadn’t really noted it before you had asked him if he minded that you were shorter, and even then he didn’t show much interest in the topic.

Niall:

And he loves it. He loves how he can sneak up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist and rest his chin on top of your head. He loves how he can steal kisses when he’s bored; how you feel so small and delicate in his arms. He loves how you always end up being the little spoon when he holds you, just before you two drift to sleep at night; how you always look so fragile, like you’re his princess. It makes him feel like he has to protect you, because you’re just so small in his arms, and it makes him protective – it makes him feel like he belongs with you, to make sure you’re safe.
