You'll always have me to dance with

While watching the hundreds of rich people dancing and having fun in his mansion, Bruce almost felt bad not having let Jack come to his party. He was his sweet little Jacky. But he did not really trusted thim around 'normal' people. He still killed. Less than before they got together, but still. He was dangerous.

He took a sip of his french red wine and thought that if Jack had been here, at least he wouldn't have been that bored. He could have talked with him, even danced with him – why not ? - and the clown would have joked and Bruce would have grinned, almost laughed.
He wouldn't have felt alone.

No one he really cared about had came to the party. True, it was just a random party, it wasn't as if it was Bruce's birthday or whatever, but still. He would have liked Dick, Tim or Selina to be here. But they all had other things to do. Or maybe they didn't want to see him, now that they knew he was befriending Gotham's most wanted man.

Even Alfred was acting pretty cold with him. Alfred had always been by his sides, no matter how stupid or dangerous Bruce's decisions were...but this time, with his new relationship with 'The Joker', he had probably gone too far.
He felt so alone.

"Care to dance, Mr Wayne?"
Bruce focused his attention on the woman who was standing before him. She was pretty tall, and she was wearing a long, dark green dress that flatered every single one of her beautiful curves. Her skin was tan, and her thick messy hair contrasted with all the other women's hair which was all tied up in strict ponytails and up-does. Her face was long and thin, and her almond-shaped pale green eyes were big and expressive, with long eyelashes.
Her ruby red lips were stretched in a big, wide smile.

Bruce took her hand and sighed.
"I thought I told you not to come..."
"What are you talking about, Mr Wayne?" she frowned.
"Cut the act, I now it's you."
She giggled and Bruce knew he had been right about 'her' true identity.

"What did betray me?" 'she' asked.
"Come on. I could recognize your smile anywhere, Jack."
"Why, thank you, darling!"
"That was NOT a compliment."
Jack giggled more.
"I have to say..." Bruce said. "If it wasn't for your smile, I would have never knew it was you. Your disguise is amazing. You don't look like yourself at all.How did you do?"
He shrugged.
"Heh, I'm just good at make-up. And disguises. And dressing like a woman. Those are my hobbies!" Jack said with his fake serious smile.
"How many hobbies do you have exactly?"
"Enough to never get bored, hehehe!"
There was a short silence. Jack rested his head on Bruce's shoulder, letting him leading this dance.
"You shouldn't be here," Bruce whispered.
"No one would know it's me," Jack said while Bruce made him spin.
"Still."

"Harley left me."
Bruce wasn't sure about what he had just heard. It was so sudden, so out of place...
"Well, don't expect me to feel sorry for you," he said coldly "You destroyed her life, you tricked her into thinking you loved her, you used her as a tool, and you cheated on her with me. Really I'm even surprised that she stayed with you for so long."
"It's not as if I cared that she's gone," Jack said a bit angrily. "It's just that – well – she's mine! She's my little home-made toy!I'm her creator, she had to stay with me until I got bored of her and got rid of her. But no, she was the one who left me! ME! How rude is that?"

"How do you feel about that? Honestly?"
"I dunno, I guess I kinda liked having someone who loved me that much, you know, to feed my ego." he bit his lips, as if fighting against himself. "And...I...have to admit...it was nice not being alone."
Bruce knew how difficult it was for Jack to admit that he needed someone. Well, someone else than Batman for his Joker nights.

"Heh, you know, that's the part you're supposed to tell me something like 'don't worry, you have me now, you'll never be alone' and then kiss me passionately," Jack joked.
"Did you really think I would say that?" Bruce said, raising an eyebrow.

"Being romantic really would kill you, uh?"
Bruce rolled his eyes.
"We are dancing a waltz. Don't you think it's romantic enough?"
Jack snickered and hugged Bruce tightly.
"Heh.I guess so."

Jack decided to stop talking for a while, enjoying the warmth that his knight's body made him feel. Did he even ever feel that good in his life?
He suddenly noticed how tightly Bruce was holding him. As if he unconsciously never wanted him to go.

"You feel alone too, don't you, Bats?" he asked softly.
"What?"
He smiled.
"You heard me."
They shared a long look, and Bruce didn't need words to make Jack understand how right he was. Bruce couldn't live without him. Jack placed his hand on his cheek.
"Don't worry, darling. You'll never be alone."

They kissed, and they both thought :

You'll always have me to dance with...
