HEAVENLY,
"Better?"
Watching Angel eat a morning snack, I just admired her. She was an early bird just like me, and luckily, I managed to fall asleep early enough to wake up at my usual time like I always did.
"Yes." She nodded her head and continued to watch the tv that was in the kitchen while I put all the dirty dishes in the sink and washed my hands off. I looked down at my phone to see if Dinero had sent anything yet to let me know when he made it back to his place.
"How are you?"
I heard Chris's voice walk up behind me and I let out a soft sigh. "I'm well. I missed my quiet mornings."
"I can tell." He leaned back on the island counter. "So, what now?"
"What do you mean?"
"The ball is in your court now. What do you want to happen?"
I never really thought about it like that. I just shrugged my shoulders at him. "What do you think I should do?"
"First, let's solve this little mystery and then handle August on your own terms."
"He's so irritating. " I rolled my eyes at him saying August's name. I don't know what the fuck be going through his head and it irks my nerves that he chooses not stop what he does. It doesn't bother me, but at the same time it's stupid.
Chris chuckled at my reaction. "He takes patience. Something you're well at when it comes to him."
"Well I don't have any left."
Feeling my message notification going off, I looked at the text and saw it was from Dinero.
"About to leave?"
"Yeah." I unhooked my phone from the charger in the wall. "He wants to be there by 6:00."
"Be careful."
"I will."
I gave him a reassuring smile, and started to make my way to the front door, until I felt small hands on my thighs. I looked down seeing Angel hugging onto me, so I hugged her back and then quickly made my way out of the door, hearing Chris lock the door behind me. I opened up the garage door, exposing the all black 2020 Jeep Compass. I unlocked the doors, and slid inside, locking the doors and starting it up. Sliding my seat belt across my chest and sittin my purse on the passenger seat, my phone lit up and August's name was on the screen. I tossed my phone in the seat beside me and cut on music. He really pissed me off this time, so I'm not even gonna entertain it at the moment.
I pulled up out of the garage, turning some music in the car to ease myself up a little more. I put in the directions of the Dinero's house into the built in GPS of the Jeep and drove into the early mornings.
