🎶Our love was strong as a lion
Soft as the cotton you lie in
Times we got hot like an iron
You and I🎶Theo Raeken. We haven't seen each other since we were fifteen, and even then we were totally infatuated with each other. We never said anything about it, or did anything until the day he moved away.
I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
"Theo!" I called out, trying to gain the attention of my best friend who was currently sat on the curb, a sad and thoughtful expression on his face. His head didn't turn, not even when I sat beside him, a loud huff falling from my lips as I came into contact with the pavement."What's wrong?" My question was met with silence, with my patience wearing thin I huffed once more and started to get up before he finally spoke, "I'm leaving" his voice cracking, he looked up at me and I saw the tears brimming in his eyes.
"You can't leave, Theo I- I love you, you- please don't leave" he shook his head, the tears finally slipping down his cheeks, "I love you too, so, so much, but I don't have any say in it. My parents want to move, nothing I do or say will change their minds"
I still don't know where it was he moved to, a year or so after he left, my parents decided to move back to Beacon Hills, and I'm so glad they did. I reconnected with my old friends, Scott and Stiles, and even made new ones, Allison and Lydia.
🎶Our hearts had never been broken
We were so innocent darling
We used to talk 'til the morning
You and IWe had the mixtape on every weekend
Had it repeating, had it repeating🎶"Tell me about Theo?" Allison asked me one day, "I'm sorry?" I asked, having not heard her properly, "Theo, tell me about him?"
"Why?" She smiled, "You seem sad, I thought talking about him might cheer you up? And if not, it's always worth a shot" I giggled, "True""We were fifteen when he left, when we said 'I love you', I feel like since he left, I haven't been complete. It kinda feels like he took a piece of me with him. I- I know how stupid that must sound"
"It doesn't sound stupid" she reassured, a bright smile on her face as she held my arm gently, "We were so innocent back then, it was so easy, it felt like us against the world. When we were younger, we had these long range walkie-talkies, and when we were sent back inside to go to bed, we'd get them out from under our beds and talk until like three a.m. most nights.
"It was so simple" I laughed at myself for sounding so sappy. "We'd listen to the same songs every weekend up in that damned treehouse my dad built me in the woods behind our house. It was hidden so well, I don't think any of the other kids on our street ever found it.
"It was our safe haven, somewhere we could go without being judged, and we'd listen to that mixtape on repeat and just relax"
🎶You were my September Song, summer lasted too long
Time moves so slowly, when you're only fifteen
You were my September Song, tell me where have you gone?
Do you remember me, we were only fifteen🎶"The summer he left, God, it seemed to last forever. Sometimes I wish it had, time was so easy, moved by so slowly when you're fifteen, you're just in the middle; you're not a kid, but you're not an adult yet either"
"Do you think you'll ever see him again?" Allison asked as she held my hand reassuringly, "I hope so" I smiled at her, "If I knew where he was right now, I'd probably drop everything to go and find him"
🎶And I, I remember the chorus, they were singing it for us
You were my September Song, tell me where have you gone?
Do you remember me, we were only fifteen
