The silent night air filled with my heart-wrenching sobs, I hid my face in my hands, taking deep breaths trying to calm myself even slightly.

Another sob left my lips when I heard footsteps descending the stairs. I held my breath, hoping who ever it was would walk right by and not bother with me.

I had no such luck, the person sitting right next to me, "Maggie, are you gonna tell me what's wrong, or are we gonna sit out here all night?" That all too familiar voice asked, the one voice I now wanted to avoid for all of eternity.

I took another deep calming breath before I began to speak to him, "I uh- why are you out here?" I asked him, twiddling my thumbs as I tried to distract myself from him sitting so close to me.

"Isaac told me you needed me" I sighed, he hates me but he's still looking out for me. God I owe that boy so much.
"What about Kira?"

"She convinced me to come out here" my breath caught in my throat as his left hand captured both my hands, stilling my thumbs from their movements.

"So, are you gonna tell me what's wrong? Cause I've got all night, Mags"

"I like you, I really like you, Scott" I breathed out, I heard him chuckle from beside me, "Wish I'd known that before" I opened my mouth to question him, but before I could, his right hand had turned my chin and his lips softly collided with mine.

We pulled away a minute later, breathless but happy. "May I have this dance?" He asked, a gentle, amused smile on his face as he stood up, offering a hand to me.

"There's no music" I laughed, "We'll make our own" he whispered lowly in my ear, I smiled widely, biting my lip as I took his hand and we danced the night away, surrounded by the stars.
