Chapter 15

Mike's pov

After about 7 corners later I was finally able to close the gap between the 2 of us and as expected, Fred was having difficulty with his car. He was fast when exiting corners and on straightaways but was slower than me in corners due to his car having too much power.

Fred's pov

Shit, what's wrong with my car. I can barely control it when attacking the corners. What's worse is that Mike and I are about to reach the 5 hairpins and he is way faster than me in corners plus he might do that trick again, so I better block him but not too much. "Wait a minute." I said to myself. Mike and I are almost at the last hairpin and he still hasn't tried anything but he was right on my bumper. As we approached the lasted hairpin, I downshifted to 2nd gear but as I drifted through the hairpin my car started to under steer. Crap what's going on, why are my front tires starting to lose their grip now?!. After a few minutes, we approached a 3 lane left corner, I didn't want him to pass as the goal was close and this would be an ideal place to overtake someone.

Mike's pov

I gotta over take Fred here, if my theory is correct I should be able to overtake him. Right before we reached the corner, I quickly dashed to the outside at the last minute. Once we reached the corner, we both drifted through it at the same time. Now! Before we were half way through the corner, Fred's car started to under steer severely. This is my last chance. I stopped counter steering and moved into the inside. Though it was difficult to squeeze through, I still managed to get almost my whole car ahead of him before we exit the corner.

10mins later

"Fred still has a bit more to learn about tuning car for mountain racing." I said as I waited for the others. Soon they arrived at the bottom but something caught my attention, Maggie and Chi came down a bit quicker than last time. They only arrived about lesser than 20 seconds after Fred reached the bottom. "Mike how did you do that, you barely passed Fred." Chi exclaimed. "I was just lucky I guess. By the way, you and Maggie have improved quite a bit." I said. "Really?" Maggie asked. "Yeah. Well' I gotta go back now seeya guys tomorrow." I said as I got back into my car and head home.

Mike's House

"Dad, I'm back!" I shout throughout the house. "Oh there you are Mike. Hey I got something to discuss something with you." He said. What is it about. "What is it?" I asked. "Well, recently you've been using the 86 a lot more than I have. So I decided to buy another car." He said.
