Shawn's POV

Amara and I were sitting in the Starbucks on the first floor of the hospital, reading and sipping on our coffees. Well, she was reading. I was not.

I was admiring her.

The way she smiled at every single person who walked by, the way her white painted fingernails turned page after page of the seemingly interesting book she had her eyes glued on. How every time she inhaled, her eyes would light up at the familiar scent of fresh brewed coffee. Everything she did, I admired. God, she was stunning. Her dark, silky curls rested on her shoulders, and she would flick them off every few minutes.

During all of this, she kept her chestnut eyes glued to her book.

My thoughts were interrupted by my phone buzzing violently on the coffee table. "IAN" flashed across the bright screen. I picked it up and took one last look at Amara.

"Hun?"

"Yes?" She didn't look up from the page. "I'm gonna go take a call okay?"

She nodded, and I walked over to the couches sitting in the corner of the lounge. I hit the answer button and brought the phone up to my cheek.

"Hey, man." Ian sighed. "Hey" I took a seat on the edge of one couch. "What's going on? You never call during the day" I explained.

"I know, I just wanted to know how Amara is."

I cleared my throat and shut my eyes. I glanced over at her.

"She's great." I smiled to myself.

"Oh okay, that's good." He paused.

"Hey Shawn?"

"Yeah?" I fiddled with my fingers.

"Did the doctors tell you when she might get her memory back?"

"Uh, no, they didn't. Why are you asking?" I crossed my arms.

"Just wondering."

And with that, the line went dead. I glanced over at Amara, innocently sipping her earl grey tea.

~~~~~~~~ 1 HOUR LATER ~~~~~~~
"... and that's how you persuaded your mom to let you have a high school musical birthday party when you were 14." I sighed, smiled, and put my chin in my hands.
There goes another memory.
She chuckled, and placed her novel on the coffee table. The next thing that happened left me in complete awe. I heard a few mumbles from behind me, and then the figure appeared beside us.
Lauren.
"Laur? What are you doing here?" I asked, getting up and keeping my eyes on Amara, who was staring at the girl. She had just ordered a coffee, as it was in her hand.
"I wanted to visit!" She looked me straight in the eyes and then averted them back to Amara. "Shawn never told me about the accident. I had to hear it from people at school." She pushed me out of the way and took a seat in the chair I was sitting in.
The chair I was sitting in.
She leaned across the table. Amara sat with her coffee in her hands, which were resting in her lap. She smiled at Lauren. Just then, Lauren stretched out her hand, so she could shake it. "I'm Lauren. A friend of Shawn's."
I piped up.
"Uh, Lau-" "So, Amara, what do you remember?"
She cut me off.
I decided to grab a chair and sit down. This was going to be a long visit.
--------------------
In fact, it was. Lauren told Amara everything about herself, and everything about mine and her relationship. However, she made SURE to exclude anything that had to do with the way she treated me, the breakup, and the harassment that came afterward.
Of course I tried to pipe up a few times, but Lauren just swore me off. Amara didn't exactly know who this girl was, or what was happening, so I couldn't blame her. She was just being the kind, honest, and free spirited Amara. And I love her for that.
Almost twenty minutes later, it was silent. I told Lauren to leave.
She did as told, with a glare of course. I sat down opposite to Amara and she just looked at me. Must be confused.
"What was that?" She took a sip of her tea.
"You don't know Lauren and I's history, Amara." I tried not to make eye contact with her. I fiddled with the hem of my t shirt. "Ohhh Shawn I think I do. She just told me all about it!" She said.
"No. No, she didn't. She was lying." "What was she lying about?" I stood up and started pacing the small area around us. "Everything."
I kneeled down beside her and took her hands in mine. "Our relationship was the opposite of all that. I dated her for six months in grade 11. It was nothing."
She nodded, and went back to her book.
-------------------------------------
Hey cuties!!!
So recently I've been having some doubts about the Romeo and Juliet play part of the storyline.
With Amara in the accident and losing her memory and all that, I thought there could have been something where Shawn takes Ian's place as Romeo and Lauren is Juliet, and then since Amara didn't know about their past relationship and how Lauren treated her, it would be nothing to Amara until Shawn told her, after the play. Then there would be a super long fight drama outburst thing. (Because Lauren and Shawn would have kissed when him and Amara were technically still dating sooooo)
I thought it was too much going on, with the play and the loss of memory. So, I've decided to take out all the chapters or parts of chapters that mention the play, and act like it was never a thing.
I HAVE A NEW THING THOUGH!!! Don't be alarmed ❤
Anywaysssss thank you guys so much for all the support as always and ily and yeahhhhh 💖
