Chapter 13

Aphmau POV

I close the opening sign to closed before sighing. Since it's the first day of the cafe, many people wanted to try it out because the last cafe that me and KC use to work at isn't doing so good. Also, KC has many fans that came here now because our old boss decided to let her best workers go.

"Great job you guys!" Martha shouts. I turn around to see her holding a tray with mugs and a plate of cookies. I sit down at one of the cushioned chairs at the corner of the room. It's for relaxing and reading. She places the tray in front of me and KC comes over while the guys are helping to clean and wash everything. Martha insisted the guys do it because girls are delicate flowers that don't need to work.

"This has been a good day!" I take a sip of the tea before taking a bite of the cookie. KC and Martha do the same.

"Who knew you girls were that popular at your old job. Your boss must have been stupid!" Martha exclaims, making us both giggle.

"Done!" Ross shouts before running over to me and sitting down, his tail showing.

"Oh? Nice tail Ross." Martha smirks, making Ross blush from embarrassment. He goes to put it away but he is stopped. "Keep it out. It's adorable." Martha smirks at his embarrassment. We keep talking until it's time to leave.

"See you tomorrow!" I shout from the car window before driving off after Kawaii-Chan who already left with the guys who wanted to sleep.

"I'm tired." Sky complains.

"Well you can sleep as soon as we get back. For now-" suddenly, I hear a gun shot. "Let's drive!" I shout before driving as fast as I can away from the two dark cars that are now following us.

"What's going on?" Max asks, shooting a fireball at one of the cars.

"I don't know. Maybe we are being chased down by people trying to kill us." I shout, making a sharp turn left.

"If we had the others with us then we could have just teleported or Red could have used his physic powers to stop the bullets but no, we had to be stuck with the two useless people who can't do ranged attacks!" Max shouts out in rage. His powers get more powerful and strong, fuelled by his rage. Suddenly, one of the tires are hit, making the car swerve. Ross turns and wraps his arms around me before we hit the wall, blocking me from the damage. Luckily, his scarf healed him quickly. The other two guys jumped out and started to fight the shadow knights who came from the cars. I summon my own sword and start attacking them.

"Jess! Watch out!" Sky shouts before throwing his 'budder' sword at the person behind me. It then falls to the ground with the dust remains of that person. We are soon surrounded.

"Hand her over." Gene comes forward from the group, smirking. My phone chooses the best time to ring!

"Wait!" I shout, making everybody freeze. I then take out my phone and answer it. "Hey mom, this is not a good time."

"Every time is a good time to talk to your own mother. Why don't you ever call me anymore!" I pull the phone away from my ear as she starts to shout at me.

"I know mom and sorry. I've just been too busy. Like right now. Can I call you later?" I ask. She sighs angrily.

"Fine! But you better not be with any boys!" She shouts before hanging up. I look at all of the boys around me. I'm the only girl here.

"Sorry about that. Continue." The fighting starts again but everybody gets pinned down, including me.

"Take the girl. Make sure she is unharmed or you will be punished. Do whatever you want with the others." Gene says before walking away. I'm lifted up with a sword to my neck as they lead me towards the car. One of the people tie my arms together before shoving me into the car. They get in after me and shut the door.

"Let me out!" I shout at them, trying to get out but I am hit over the head, making me see black spots. "I hate you all." Is the last thing I say before fainting.

I wake up to a comfy bed and a nice room. Not what I was expecting at all to be honest. There is also a bandage around my head.

"Looks like the princess is awake." I turn to see Sasha sitting on a wooden chair next to me, reading a book. I sit up and turn towards her.

"Sasha? What are you doing here?" I ask, yawning.

"I was told to keep you company since I'm a girl with a high status. I'm also your bodyguard while you stay here." She informs me before shutting the book and placing it down on the table next to her.

"Okay? So how has your day been?" I ask her. She just shrugs.

"Okay."

"How long have I been asleep?"

"A day."

"Can you say more than two words?" She sighs angrily.

"I can but I just don't want to. Now leave me alone to read my book." She says before taking her book and opening it again, ignoring all of my attempts at talking.

"Hey Sasha, hey Sasha, hey Sasha, hey-" I start to poke her until she looks up and glares at me.

"What?" She shouts.

"I'm hungry." I complain, my stomach complaining with me.

"Oh right. Wait here while I get you some food." She says before standing up and leaving the room. I take this time to go over to the window. Outside is a portal that is guarded by many shadow knights. When I hear the door open, I dive onto my bed, bouncing on it.

"What are you? A child? Stop bouncing on the bed." She places the plate of food in front of me before sitting down and grabbing her book again. I eat the food quietly. As soon as I'm done, there is a knock on the door. Gene and Zenix walk in.

"Hey princess, your father wants to see you." Gene goes to grab my arm but Sasha slaps his hand away, not moving her eyes away from her book until she finished the page.

"I will take her myself. Thank you for informing us." She says before gently taking my wrist in her grip and dragging me out of the room. Gene and Zenix follow behind us as we walk into what looks like a throne room. There sits the shadow lord.

"Hey daddy!" I wave frantically while the others bow down to him. This is going to be fun... NOT.
