Chapter 37

Aphmau POV

"You are nearly ready." I sit down and take a sip of my water as Ross sits next to me. Yes, you heard me correct. Ross. He has been my teacher after Sky with sword fighting. Max and Red have been training me with magic while Jin has been teaching me everything I need to know about shadow knights and how to teleport properly because apparently I was doing it wrong.

"Is this it for today?" I ask.

"Yep! Congrats, you only have to practice the final part of your magic." He places his katanas in their sheaths before sitting down next to me and drinking from my water bottle, finishing it off.

"My water!" I jump onto him and wrap my arm around him lightly before scratching my knuckle on his head.

"Ahh! You have been hanging around Max too much!" He shouts before turning into a squirrel and running behind Jin and Max who walks into the room. Max hands me out bet money and I grin.

"Pleasure doing business with you Max." I place the money in my pocket before turning to Ross who pouts at me. Suddenly, an alarm goes off.

"Whats going on?" Max turns to Jin who looks at his tablet.

"The Shadow Knights... they decided to come a day earlier." Jin replies to him before pressing a button.

"Signal sent?" I ask and he nods before we all run to the armoury. The signal that was sent notifies everybody who knows about this attack to either evacuate the civilians of MyStreet or to come to the armoury in my basement if they don't already have their weapons. Soon, we are all ready. Red, Vylad and Laurence were already prepared so they are helping evacuate the city. The Jury of Nine is outside I'm guessing, helping Zane fight against his own army.

"Is everybody ready?" Sky asks. We all nod, lifting our swords.

"Then let's save MyStreet!" I cheer before teleporting out of the house and to a building away from my house. We decided places to teleport while everybody comes to my house with the barrier. Everything around me is the same as my vision.

Shadow Knights are destroying all of the houses and setting them on fire, killing all of the innocent people trapped inside. The sky is red with a black moon.

"Jess watch out!" I turn towards the voice to see Vylad get hit into the wall of the house next to me by Gene. He falls to the ground unconscious from the force he was thrown at. I turn back around at Gene before pulling out my sword and pointing it at him.

"Now now Princess. If you come willingly then that traitor over there won't burn in that house he is trapped under." I turn around and look at Vylad to see him surrounded by fire. The only thing protecting him is the barrier that I set up but I can't concentrate and fight at the same time. I haven't practiced enough. I turn back around to see Red there with his hood down and a cut across his forehead. He nods towards Vylad and I release the barrier, letting Red slowly carry him away with his magic. Red then runs off to take Vylad to a safe place. I face Gene.

"What now?" I ask him. He takes out his sword, a dark glow surrounding it. The glow only I could see.

"We do this the hard way." He strikes at me.

I block his attack before flipping over him and attacking his back. He quickly turns around and blocks me before kicking me back with his long legs. Stupid long legs. All I have to do is pin him down and absorb the dark energy from him. Easier said then done. I summon my dark hand and punch him with it before running at him and kicking him in the face, slashing him with my sword. He quickly strikes at me back, letting me barely dodge as he strikes my arm. He just tried to cut it off!

"Not cool dude!" I exclaim, jumping out of the way of his sword again. I bring my hand down and slam it down, him barely jumping out of the way. I quickly kick him, making him hit the tree behind me him, breaking it. I then use my hand to grab him in his dazed state and I bring him over to me, slamming him onto the ground in front of me. Quickly, I put my hands on his chest and take the darkness away from him.

"Jess! Are you okay?" Laurence runs up to me, stopping when he sees me on Gene.

"He is cured." I tell him before standing up and lifting Gene with my hand. He chooses this time to open his eyes.

"What's going on? Zenix? Sasha?" He calls out, sitting up.

"Welcome to the land of the living." I smile at him, lowering him down to the ground.

"Aphmau? What's going on? Why is the sky red? Why am I wearing armour?" He starts to panic so I put my hand on his shoulder.

"You have been under the control of a dark power for over a year now. Sasha and Zenix are fine and we are all fighting in a war to defeat the shadow lord and dispel the evil controlling him. Would you like to fight with us?" Laurence walks over to me and hands me Genes sword. I then take a step back and hold it out to him with both hands. He takes it.

"Let's save the shadow lord." He smiles at me before turning and running off in the direction where Sasha and Zenix are.

"They're both near that direction! Just keep going!" I shout to him before turning to Laurence. "What's the status?" I ask him.

"Innocent people are all evacuated. Shadow Knights are slowly going down but everybody else is getting tired. We need backup." He informs me.

"I have an idea. Be back in a minute." I smirk at him before teleporting to a different dimension.
