Chapter 27

Aphmau POV

It has been hours and I cannot sense Sasha or that darkness. It is now nighttime. Scales has tired out his super speed ability so we had to go back to normal flying. We even slit up at one point, me flying while my wings were out. Flying came naturally to me so I used my own speed to help but it tired me out quickly.

"What's that over there?" Scales asks me. I look in the direction he is facing to see a cave. We land in the island and I jump off of him. He turns into a small wyvern and I pick him up so he could rest.

"Let's check it out. I have a weird feeling about this place." I tell him. I walk in and suddenly, I hear a roar. There is a dragon, holding an unconscious Sasha. Instead of harming her though, he is taking care of her.

"Who are you human?!" The dragon exclaims at me, roaring. I bow down to it to show that I mean no harm.

"My name is Jessica, daughter of Lady Irene." I tell him.

"Prove it. Summon her sword." The dragon growls. I take out the dagger that I killed my old boss with and imagine it growing and turning white. It starts to glow and turns into my sword. The dragon instantly bows. "I am sorry my lady, please forgive me."

"It's okay. I came here looking for that girl." I tell him before walking over to them. He places her down gently on a few pillows.

"I found her wondering about, lost. I got defensive and attacked her but she didn't attack me back. Then this ball of darkness came flying at me. She took the hit and fell unconscious and I do not know what to do. My lady, please help her." The dragon begs. I pick her up and place her on the back of Scales who is now back to normal size.

"We will help her. Worry not but we must leave immediately." I tell the dragon.

"Please bring her to me when she is fully healed. I would like to give her my thanks." The dragon asks. I nod and smile. "Ask for King Arthur and I will appear." Wait, this dragon is a king! Was not expecting that. Well it explains the gold scales.

Flying by myself so I can make sure Sasha doesn't fall. It takes a few hours and the sun has already risen by the time we reach the portal. There, shadow knights guard it.

"We can't enter this portal." One of the shadow knights say.

"Well figure it out! We need the whereabouts of the princess!" The other one shouts. Two of them try jumping in but one bounces back while the other goes straight through. This is bad. Sasha is in bad condition and Scales is tired. I put Sasha on my back and make sure she is secure with my wings around her before taking out my sword. Scales charges ta them and attacks two of them while I stab another in the arm. We both clear a path to the portal and I jump in as an arrow penetrates my wing. I roll and hit the edge of the bed before standing up and running to the portal, putting my arm in and grabbing Scales before pulling him through. I then shut the portal and pick Sasha up, putting her on the same bed as Zenix before putting my hands on both of their chests and concentrating. The darkness flies out of them and hovers in front of me before going into the dark heart.

"They aren't panting anymore." Scales informs me. I release the barrier and Scales walks up the stairs. A minute later, Sky and Jin run down the stairs, Scales right behind them. They see my wing that is on pain.

"Jess! Jin get the first aid kit." Sky shouts. I sit on the chair in the middle of the two shadow knights and pull the arrow out of my wing, hissing in pain. It's glowing red, showing that it was a shadow knight weapon. Jin wraps the wound up in silence.

"What exactly happened?" Sky asks after giving me a glass of water. I drink it before replying.

"I found Zenix and he collapsed in me so I took him here and the voice in my head told me to touch his forehead. It showed me what happened and the way to fix it. The barrier put itself up to stop the darkness from escaping, only letting those immune to the darkness through. My wings came out and we looked for Sasha for hours. Found her with the king and brought her back to the portal where a few shadow knights were trying to get through. They hit my wing before I got through the portal and here I am! I purified these two." I explain to him. At this time, Zenix wakes up.

"What happened? Kitty?" He mumbles, rubbing his eyes as the cloth falls off of his forehead. He suddenly gasps. "Sasha! Where is she!" He shouts.

"It's fine Zenix! She is right next to you." I tell him. He looks down at the sleeping Sasha before sighing. He then looks at me and gasps.

"What happened?" He asks, worried. I just shrug as Jin finishes the bandage.

"I was hit by an arrow by a shadow knight before you woke up. Nothing too bad." This time, Sasha wakes up.

"Huh? Zenix, where are we?" She asks, looking around. She spots me and her eyes widen.

"Heya!" I smile at her. She suddenly turns around and hitS Zenix in the shoulder, making him cry out in pain.

"Do never do that again! You almost died!" She shouts at him. I just smile at their friendship.
