Her six protectors

Chapter 15

Aphmau POV

I open my eyes to see that I am not in my room like I was before I passed out. I look to my left to see Sky asleep with bandages wrapped around many parts of his body. Ross and Max are the same but Ross is healing quicker because of his scarf.

"You're awake Jess." I turn to my right to see Jin standing there with a first aid kit. I slowly sit up.

"How are they?" I ask. He sighs, sitting down in the chair between me and Sky.

"We found them in pretty bad shape. Only Ross woke up but it was only to say that you were taken." Jin explains, making me sigh.

"I cause so much trouble for you guys. Why do you stay with me? You should've left me when you had the chance." I pull the covers over my head but Jin pulls them off again.

"You saved us from dying out a children and gave us our magic so we are putting to good use by protecting our little sister." He smiles at me before walking over to Sky and taking the covers off of him so he could get to his bandages. I smile at how delicate Jin is with all of us when we are injured. Usually he doesn't do anything if we hit each other or if they hurt themselves. Now he is taking care of them, changing their bandages and making sure they are okay.

"Thanks... it means a lot." I mumble. He glances at me and smiles before going over to Max and sorting the bandage around his forehead. He has a big cut on his forehead.

"W-what? JESS!" Ross sits up, shouting before curling up and groaning from the pain. Jin runs up around the bed so he is next to Ross.

"Ross calm down. It's okay." Jin tries to comfort him. He fails so I take the crutches that are next to me and slowly make my way towards the squirrel who is trying to get up.

"Ross I'm here. See? I'm safe. Calm down." He looks at me before calming down. He then grabs my hand and tugs me onto the bed and hugs me to his chest, crying into my hair. I just pat his back.

"I'm so sorry that we couldn't protect you. I'm such a bad protector! Thanks to us, you were injured." He continues to cry, slowly falling asleep. I turn to Jin.

"How long was we asleep?" I ask. He looks at the calendar behind him before turning back to me.

"Three weeks?" He asks, making my eyes widen.

"How was we asleep for so long?" I ask.

"Well you had a big gash in your leg, slash marks in your back, many different cuts all over your body and you were weak from using your magic. You need to train again." He tells me.

"What about work?" I wonder.

"I told her that you guys had an emergency so the rest of us took care of all the work. You should be able to get back to work when you have all healed but that would take about a month or two." He explains to me before taking Ross's arms away from me and picking me up, carrying me to the bed I was occupying.

"That's a long time." I mumble as he put the covers over me.

"Get some sleep while I tell the others the news." He kisses my forehead before walking out of the door, shutting it behind him. I slowly fall asleep.

Jin POV

I walk up the stairs and to the living room to see Katelyn, Kawaii-Chan, Red, Barney, Vylad and Laurence talking with the TV on.

"How are they?" Red asks as soon as I sit down next to him.

"Well Jess and Ross have woken up-" I start to say but was cut off.

"Reallys? Wells let's go sees thems!" Barney exclaims but I shush him.

"As I was saying, they both woke up but Jess was tired and Ross cried himself to sleep. Don't disturb them." I say. Barney pouts before sitting down.

"Poor guys... they've been through so much." Red mumbles.

"And together we will be through more. As a team." I say before teleporting a potion book on my lap.

"So how do you suggest removing the poison out of their body?" Vylad asks. I sigh.

"Well I have been making potions but I just can't get them right. Something is missing from the book. I wish Ross was able to help but he won't be able to think straight because of the poison. None of them will and I can tell. They are already going through the first stage." I show Vylad the page of what I wanted to make and he takes it from me.

"Kawaii-Chan will bake them some cookies!" KC leaves to the kitchen.

"That potion is missing something important. A flower that has the healing abilities of Irene herself but nobody knows where it is. Not even Lady Irene herself." Laurence says before standing up. "I will see what I can do." He walks out of the room with Vylad silently following him.

"I'm going to go down and stay with Aph for a while." Katelyn stands up, followed by Barney and they both go down to the basement where the guys are at.

"What now?" Red asks me. I just shrug.

"Well I'm going to continue experimenting with potions. You should probably rest since you was up all night on watch." I say before teleporting to the house if a witch that is the daughter of Irene's friend. Lucinda.

"Jin! How are the guys?" Lucinda asks, placing down the glass bottles she was holding before turning to me.

"Well Jess and Ross woke up but went back to sleep while Laurence and Vylad went to figure out how to get the last ingredient. They said nobody knows where it is so I'm going to try looking for a counter ingredient." I explain to her.

"As long as Aphmau is okay then do what you need." She goes back to her bottles while I walk over to the cauldron. I might be terrible compared to Ross but I'm the only chance they have left.
