Chapter 3: To Love One's Mate
Colton was sitting in his apartment when the Alphas had called. They said something had happened with his sister. He ran quickly to the pack house and she opened the door jumping on him. Iris had explained the story leaving the two girls heartbroken, they both ran into the woods, in seperate directions. They weren't quite as worried as Alex seeing as she was going to be Alpha, but Tiffianie meant a lot to both boys and Devyn couldn't explain it. They followed her, in their human form talking gently. She was now laying in a clearing and she looked lost in her own world. The boys sat in the tall grass and just watched her.
Alex was running, she could smell Colton's scent mixed with Devyn's and Tiffinie's. He was still fifteen minutes away. She pushed herself and was there in no time, shifting, she didn't care if they saw her naked, she hurriedly spoke.
"Comequickyourmatewasattackedandsheneedsyou," she said breathless. He didn't need a repeat, he burst into his wolf and sprinted to the house. "You stay here and watch her I need to go help," she spoke to Devyn now, nodding to Tiffanie. "Go get 'em Tiger."
Colton had just made it to the door when he felt a stabbing pain in his right shoulder, they were giving her shots. Bursting through the door he shifted and grabbed the shorts the Alpha was holding.
"Where is he?" He heard a frustrated voice say. He followed the voice and saw his mate lying motionless on the couch. He walked over to her and cut through his own wrist. Putting his wrist to her mouth he left a few drops fall in to her and she began healing.
Blood of a mate.
He licked his wound shut, a disgusting thing, but hey, he is a wolf at heart. She began moving and she opened her eyes looking at him. She grinned, "Hi," she said softly.
"Hi," he said laughing slightly. He pulled her upper body up and slid underneath her pulling her close. His wolf was scared from almost losing her and needed reassurance that she was okay. He buried his head in her neck, where his mark laid, and took a deep breath. Sighing she leaned into him and they both soon fell asleep.

Devyn had sat in the grass and watched the wolf play in the weeds. He had wished he could shift into a wolf and play with her, snuggle into her side, he felt a strong connection with the girl but couldn't figure out why.
Standing up he began walking toward her, she heard the movement and spun around, teeth bared. He held his hands up, like a cop was holding a gun to him and she grinned, well, it looked like a grin. She trotted over to him and pushed her head into his hand. Instinctivly he ran his hand through her soft fur. She began making a purring noise. He sat back on the ground and pulled her with him. She laid in front of him and put her head in his lap. She felt extremely safe with this boy, this human boy, and she knew why.
Back at the pack house Alex watched Colton sleep with his mate, whose name she had learned, Gemma, and sighed. She pulled her knees to her chest and silently wished she could be with her mate, but that wouldn't happen yet.
She stepped outside, her original plan was to go for a walk, but somehow she ended up in front of Adrian's house. She walked up to the front door and before she lost her nerve, she knocked.
Adrian answered the door, shirtless, and had a huge red mark on his chest. Had she come at a bad time?
His eyes widened at the sight of her and he coughed awkwardly.
"Are you okay?" She asked immediatly, forgetting why she was here in the first place.
"Adrian! Get back in here! Who ever it is can come back another time, we're not finished with you," and angry voice inside said.
