"Alpha,..this is a risky move. We Don't have the supplies or room to home this many people"

"The weak will die within the first week. The strong will be taught how to protect themselves. And when the time comes, they will die in our place. I'm leaving them to be slaughtered, yes. But I'd rather have 300 more innocents blood on my hands than lose 1 of my own"

Our words were hushed, we couldn't risk the outsiders overhearing and thinking we have something brutal planned for them. Right now we're walking back to our land, 17 of their people have already died. Some tried to escape, others tried to harm me, and some were too weak to continue. Like I said.

I gave his arm a reassuring squeeze when he remained silent. Speechless.

"Regardless of the situation, no matter how hopeless the outcome may be, I will never quit, and I will never back down. Become the wolf. Only then will you fully understand" I told him, letting him go and walking forwards.

"What have I always taught each our of brothers?" I ask him sensing his confusion.

"I am Wolf.

Quietly I will endure.

Silently I will suffer.

Patiently I will wait.

For I am a warrior.

And I will survive." He proudly said to me, easily remembering the words. I nod my head.

"I love him. But with his love comes a price. I must choose, and when I do, I will be prepared. We will survive" I softly spoke.

We both made sure to keep our emotions hidden well. If the outsiders think they see love or kindness between me and my brothers, they will attempt to use it against us.

"If he is the rightful King, you will become his Queen. In that Kingdom...We won't be welcome. Even Lincoln can't stop the people from rebelling" he whispered to me, wise as always.

I thought over his words carefully. Knowing he is completely right. Lincoln will be far too busy to stop my brothers from being killed. And besides, I wouldn't take that damn throne even if my life was threatened.

"Lincoln has a mate out there. He seems to think that if he meets her, he will kill her. But I've seen it far to many times, my men could never kill their mates. I always had to do it for them. But I won't do that to him. He deserves someone who can love him wholeheartedly. Someone who can promise to be their every morning when he wakes up. Someone who can give him children and marriage. He deserves better than me. He thinks that I am what he wants, but every man wants what they cannot have until they've had it. I kill people. I kill innocence. Women, Fathers, ..mothers, .grandmothers..newborns..you name it, I've killed it. He deserves more than a woman who can never love him, never mate him, never mark him, never marry him and never give him a child"

"I understand. When you are wild you know who you are" he murmurs knowingly, I shook my head as I felt his emotions. He feels sorry for me, because even now admitting my love for Lincoln, I will never be with him.

Which only leaves me one choice.

"Exactly. Do not pity me Jayson, I will not be alone. Tonight I will announce my proposal. Any man that wishes to wed me, will fight in front of me and everyone else to take my hand"

He abruptly stopped at my words. Looking shocked and wide eyed. Reaching for him I yanked him towards me so he didn't draw any attention to himself.

"Are you crazy!?" He hissed at me quietly. I glared at him darkly.

"Lincoln won't have any other choice but to give in. He will leave, and he will find his mate. In doing this I am fulfilling my duty to my people" I explained to him hoping he would understand.
