The alarm shrieked through the empty cottage as a loud groan echoed through the room. A head popped out of the lump in the blanket and out fell a body entangled in the blanket.

"Oomph" Wincing and stretching, Indie yawned as she got up. Banging into furniture on her way out her room.

It was a small cozy cottage the two Jones lived in. The ground floor had a living room right beside the door with a fireplace with photo frames as a decoration and canvases on the walls. It was surrounded by three huge plush sofas that were so cozy you could sink into them and fall asleep.

Adjacent to that was the open kitchen that held a lot of memories and kitchen fires. Between the two rooms led a narrow staircase towards the first floor which was quite small. Say about the size of Harry's room under the stairs.

On both sides of the staircase were the doors for both Indie and her mom's room. Quite often they would open at the same time and bang their heads painfully against each others. Just like this morning.

"Ouch " they both winced and then laughed together as they went down the stairs. Her mum began making pancakes for breakfast but unfortunately unlike Sally Jackson.. Marie Jones specialised in black pancakes that tasted like coal.

"I think I'll whip up a sandwich for myself.. it's ok mum" Indie said already prepared as she removed the sandwich from the fridge. She had stayed up late after her mum went off to sleep and made herself breakfast knowing the usual morning routine.

She knew her mum meant well and was quite used to making her own lunch. Neither minded but her mum gave a saddened expression but sighed nonetheless before kissing her goodbye.

Walking out the door into the fresh winter winds, a chill passed down her spine as she hugged her sides and brought her jacket closer to her. Rubbing her hands and blowing into them helped as well as she picked up Alex and the duo laughed and talked their way to school.

"Oh My Goodness. Wait so you're telling me a random guy is going to talk to you?" Alex repeated not quite believing her friend.

"Well he sorta has my phone-" Indie tried to point out but there was no reasoning with Alex, the girl stuck to her ideas.

Indie winced at the fangirl scream that was expected as they entered the school gates and got quite a few looks from passerby's and fellow students.

The rest of the day, suffice to say was not that eventful as Indie had had her share full of events right in the morning as they got stared at by people. She was just trying to avoid people now and up until lunch.. it worked. It would've worked well for the rest of the day as well... But there was this announcement in the loud speakers that tuned her attention in.

"Good morning students blah blah blah..  anyways this is a special announcement. If anyone has lost something valuable please do meet me outside the principals office right now thank you oh and.. free lessons for the rest of the day! Goodbye everyone!"

There was a shocked silence in the entire cafeteria followed my mobs of teenagers squealing and screaming in excitement. This announcement had immediately changed everyone's moods as the very sleepy and depressed kids were jumping around. Half the students ran into the corridors and out of the school. The teachers were kinda shocked and confused and Indie was still red after the announcement.

"YASSSSSS" Alex squealed in excitement besides Indie." Come on let's leave!!" She said as she dragged Indie away from the cafeteria and outside the school. The security and staff were having a hard time control as no students listened and the principal looked beyond pissed at the prankster who just announced that.

Indie pulled away from Alex's grasp and stopped," wait one sec. I'll be back. Meet you outside" she said as she ran towards the mystery voice that beckoned her.

Finally reaching the silent corridor next to the principals office, she could hear the muffled excitement from outside the school near the gates. She walked towards the office in the empty halls and called out," Hello?"

Bad idea she thought afterwards as there was a huge chance she was framed and might get in trouble for the prank but she trudged on forward.

"Anyone here?..Hello?" She called out with no response coming back. Her shoulders slouched and she frowned as she retreated back towards the exit.

Alice had  just done the most riskiest thing of his life. He would die. Okay not really but it was a big bet he was willing to take all because he was desperate to get his phone back. So much for a phone. He sighed and leaned towards the wall beside the office. He could hear the sound of people rushing out of the school and waited for footsteps of Indie Jones. It was a wild guess, but he knew he'd heard that voice somewhere in school.

The memory of his kindergarten grades flooded in followed by his middle school and high school memories. He had heard this voice for so many years yet never spoken to the person it belonged to.

He waited for five minutes before giving up hope and slouching. Little did he know that when he turned his back to leave from the other exit, footsteps crunched on the wooden floor. Footsteps that would be as disheartened as he was.

Alas it was just not meant to be today.

Alice slouched and walked back home in a sad posture.

It wasn't going to be as easy getting his phone back. Not as easy as he presumed it would be.

-

"Thank the gods you're alive!!!! I was so worried oh my god. You actually took a prank announcement seriously?!?!"

"Well my name was mentioned. I wanted to kno-"

"INDIEE!!!! they could've framed you or given you detention. Or worse GIVEN YOU MATHS HW!!!"

"Chill it Granger"

"You're telling me huh. Let's go Jones. I want a day without your heart attack giving adventures. Please. "

"Your wish may never come true. Keep dreaming Alex"
