The tunnel led to the outside of the high walled fortress. The stone walls stood roughly forty feet high in the front. Sam could only see a single entrance and beyond that were golems of all shapes and size. He searched around for another, less conspicuous way in. He didn't get far because the manmade brick joined the natural walls at the fort's sides.
"This thing's falling apart," Sam said eying the gaps and other missing bricks in the wall. He ran his hand over the bricks and found many that were loose. He felt all the way down to the corner to where a large multi brick horizontal gap sat near the bottom. Sam pulled at the bricks around the gap, loosening them further before attempting to yank them out. It took him ten minutes before he was finally able to get his first brick, one the size of a microwave oven, out of the wall. The rest came a little easier and soon he whittled a hole large enough for him to crawl through.
On the inside, he found himself behind what looked to be a ramshackle building. He walked down the quiet alley and stopped once he reached the opening between the first building and the next. He peered around the corner and saw that that main courtyard was filled with large hulking golems that all seem to walk around aimlessly. The atmosphere were wasn't at all like the two previous villages where the golem villagers were more or less living like productive villagers. The air here was still and other than the shuffling of stone feet there was barely a peep throughout the entirety of the fortress. Sam stepped quietly down the alley and found a treasure chest. He prodded it with his Corseque first, before squealing with delight on the inside. He opened it and found a full set of armor.
