Meliodas POV
I'm sick of crying. I've seen Liz die before my eyes, and now I feel like I'm sending my Elizabeth into the same fate! My eyes were fixed in their staring pose, and I could no longer feel my arms and legs. I saw dark cities with newly lit streetlights, empty forests waiting for Diane's gentle return, and a girl fal--------------------OH MY GOD!
Narrator POV
Meliodas' heart skipped a beat. He saw King, his beloved comrade, and his love of his life, Elizabeth, falling into the Forest of White Dreams.
"ELIZABETH!!!!" He screamed. His wings grew and sharpened. He was terrified. He flew to try and save her fall, but he was too late. Her small body fell to the ground and all of the autumn leaves lying on the forest floor flew above her and covered her like a blanket. Meliodas' demon marks disappeared. He fell on his knees. He looked at King's body, soaked from water. They both were still alive; but barely. Meliodas stared at Elizabeth. His eyes darkened.
"Elizabeth. King. Do me one favor. Don't die on me." Meliodas muttered, "I beg of you." He held Elizabeth in his arms. "Please." Maybe, he thought, maybe I could kiss her without her knowing. He knelt down and stroked her cheek with is hand. No, not this time.
King POV
My eyes opened at a slow pace only to see Meliodas' tear stained face. I felt extreme pain in my back. "Shhh.." Meliodas said. He flipped me around and tore the arrow out of my back. I jolted in pain. "I'm sorry" he said "I didn't want to see two people dear to me hurt more."
"Two?" I asked. "Wait, where is Elizabeth?" I screamed.
"Fine, just fine." Meliodas said. He looked like he was lying. Captain doesn't cry just because. He's strong, and with the Sin's help, I have become strong too. I sat up, ignoring my own pain, only to see Elizabeth set against a tree unconscious over Meliodas' shoulder. "Princess!" I shouted. I flew over to her. I sobbed. I had let her down, I was trying to help her-- but instead------I, I......I
Meliodas interrupted my thoughts when he rushed in front of me. His eyes lightened up.
"Hey! Why mope about the past when you can fix the future? Let's get you and Elizabeth over to a hospital. Then you both can get better!" He said.
