*Jasleen's Pov.*
"Look, everything is going to be okay. Maybe Heath is doing you a favor. I mean you did say that Scotty has a girlfriend, right?" I said to Felicia as we both leaned into the mirror to do our eyeliner.
"Well, I wish he wouldn't be such a dick about it, ya feel?" she sighed in reply. "Heath is constantly treating me like a little kid. He thinks I can't handle myself in these situations."
"I understand your frustration but he's just trying to look out for you," I said trying to reason with her. We both finished our eyeliner and moved on to work on our hair.
"I guess," she sighed as she ran her fingers through her long black hair. "Anyway, I heard you caught Toddy's attention last night," she commented looking at me suggestively.
"Oh stop, don't change the subject," I scolded.
"Me? Change the subject? I would never!" She laughed before running out of the bathroom. "Now what is that? Two boys already? Ladies and gentlemen, Jasleen the heart breaker!"
"I am not a heartbreaker, for all I know they could be staring at me because I'm insanely ugly."
"Lucky for you you're not ugly. They're staring because they think you're gorgeous!" Felicia said, giggling.
"You're such a teenage girl sometimes," I rolled my eyes at her.
"Yep and you're the adult with a job so get going!"
"Oh my god," I said, mentally face palming.
"What?" Felicia asked, concerned.
"I don't have a ride and I don't have any money for an uber," I replied.
"Oh that's easy, just ask Heath. Him and Zane should be going out for their coffee talk in a little bit. See if they can take you," she said calmly.
"You're right, I would be a complete mess without you," I said hugging her.
"Yeah I know," she grinned cheekily. I laughed and grabbed my bag, checked myself in the mirror and walked out the door.
"Heath?!" I yelled.
"What?" I heard him call from the patio. I pushed the door open and joined him in the crisp morning air. "Oh, hey Jasleen," he smiled. He was smoking again, a nasty habit. He put his cigarette out when he saw it was me because he knew how much I disliked the smell. "What's up?"
"I need a ride to work and Felicia said you and Zane were going out for coffee so I was wondering maybe you could help a girl out," I said sheepishly. His smiled grew bigger and he nodded.
"Of course I can give you a ride! All you gotta do is ask," Heath replied. "Here let me go get Zane and we'll leave soon," he said.
"Thank you so much," I smiled and pulled him into a quick hug.
"Of course, you're like family," he replied before going back inside. I smiled to myself. I have a really good excuse to hang out with Zane now, too.
I walked inside and sat on the couch in the front room. About ten minutes later Zane came strolling out of his room and into the kitchen singing Brittney Spears songs. He was dressed in a pair of black cargo shorts and a light green t-shirt.
Still singing, Zane opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water out before closing the door and walking into the same room where I was seated. He took a sip before looking up and almost choking.
"Jasleen!" he gasped between coughs. "I didn't realize you were in here."
"I can tell," I giggled. His face was red from what I assumed to be a combination of embarrassment and choking. "I would have never pegged you as a Brittney fan," I teased.
