I was staring twords the school fences. It happened.
There was about ten to thirty outside of the fences putting their arms through and growling at everyone.
But, the fences were thick metal. There was no possible way they could get through.
People started running out of the front office screaming, "Go! Run! Hide!"
I stood up instantly, several got through the office with the people.
"Come on we have to get to Mrs. Greens classroom." I said in a alert voice.
The zombies continued coming through the office door. People were getting torn to pieces.
I took out my hammer. They were getting closer, one was holding onto Marie.
I ran up and smashed its head with the hammer. It dropped. I turned with surprise.
"The brains you guys!" I was excited. There is a way to kill them. Alot more started getting close.
"Run!" Marie warned.
We all started running for Mrs. Greens classroom.
I pulled on the handle."Locked? No, it can't be locked. The lights are on. " I banged on the door."Mrs. Green it's us! Please open the door, they're coming!"
The door flew open."Hurry!" She pushed us all in.
We all stumbled in and she re-locked the door.
"Are you okay?" She looked through the window.
"Ya, just peachy." Dawn remarked.
There were many screams and crys, there was really nothing we could do.
I looked out the window, the zombies were being drawn to the light from the classroom window.
"Mrs. Green?" I questioned.
"Yes?"
I turned away from the window and looked at her."We need to cover this window."
She looked twords the window."Oh my gosh! They're getting attracted to the classroom."
We grabbed lots of tape, old work sheets, and started patching up the window as fast as we could to avoid drawing attention to the classroom.
When we were done everything was quiet, except for the low groans outside.
There was no more screaming or crying.
We all sat down in the corner farthest from the door. None of us had anything to say. I curled up into my knees, David sat closely to me. I realized I was holding his hand again.
"Sorry." I slipped my hand out of his.
"No it's okay." He gave me a small quick smile.
Zachary held Rose in his arms while she softly sobbed.
Mrs. Green turned to us. "Are you guys hungry?" We all just stared at the floor.
"Well, I'm pretty hungry. " Dawn smiled at Mrs.Green.
"Well, of course you would be the first to want to eat. " Zachary muttered.
"What is that suppose to mean!?" Dawn demanded.
"You know what it means." Zachary snickered.
"Are you calling me fat?" Dawn shouted.
"Well, I ain't calling you skinny!"
"Come on you two. There's already a war outside, don't bring it in here." Wren begged.
"She's right. We need to stick together intill the end. No wars. Of course we will have disagreements, but I pray it won't lead to killing." I told them.
"I agree with Ann you two. Try to get along intill this thing is over, then you two can kill each other." David promise.
"Fine." Dawn turned back to Mrs. Green.
"So, umm that food you were talking about?"
"Oh yes. In that cupboard over there." Dawn went over and opened it.
"Whoa." It had all kinds of canned foods. It was a pretty big cupboard too.
"Cake in a can?" Dawn questioned.
We all got up and went over.
"I want vanilla!" shouted Wren.
"Red velvet!" I shouted.
"Me too." David said.
"Hmm, German chocolate?" Zachary questioned.
"Can you throw me a strawberry. " Mrs. Green asked. I grabbed it and tossed it to her.
We all sat down and ate our cake.
"I actually wouldn't mind living like this till it was over." I explained.
"If it ends." Rose said with a soft voice.
"Have some faith Rose.Things will get better." I reassured her.
