"Maddie, how the hell did this happen?" My mom basically yelled at me. I was sitting on our couch next to Austin. She was pacing in front of the fire place while my dad was sitting forward in his recliner.
"We were playing truth or dare and he got dared to tweet that we were dating and his management says that it's for the best if we just play this out." I told them. I had accepted that I had to do this, and to be a good friend, I had to play the role perfectly.
"He couldn't just delete the tweet?" My mom asked like he wasn't even there.
"Mrs. Duncan, I have five million followers, quite a few of them had seen it before I knew what was happening. I am really sorry, I never expected this to happen.." He said with a shaky voice, he was nervous, even I could tell.
"So what is going to happen? You don't live here correct?" My dad spoke up.
"I live in Miami, but I'm going to be staying here in La Vernia for the next couple of months before I go on tour. As my 'girlfriend', Maddie is going to be in the public eye for a while because no one has any idea of who she is." He said.
"So she needs to try to avoid the public?" My mom asked.
"Yeah, I have a tutor who can teach her online with my other friends. This may seem extreme, but people will go to the high school and look for her. I just want to ensure that Maddie is as safe as possible, and that her life won't get ruined by any of this." Austin said.
"And this has to last for how long?" My mom continued to question the plan.
"About six months at the least, maybe longer. My management thinks that if we broke up within a couple of months, that parents would think I was a bad seed and wouldn't let my younger audience buy my music and my older fans would think I couldn't have a long-term relationship. I know this is a long time for your lives to be uprooted like this but we'll pay for anything Maddie needs due to me and our relationship and when this ends we'll make sure that Maddie isn't the one to blame so she won't have more press than needed." Austin explained.
"She'll be here in La Vernia with us though, right?" My mom asked.
"Well, for the next three months, yes, but to make this seem as real as we can, we want Maddie to go to Miami with Austin and the rest of his friends, when the time comes." Mike, one of Austin's management people, said as he stepped forward. He had been there to answer the questions that Austin or I couldn't.
"I guess that's okay. What about this tour? Is she going to travel with him at that time too? Or is that how the break up will start?" She kept the questions coming. She wanted to know everything.
"Maddie will go on the tour since that's only four months away, it would seem odd if she didn't attend. She'll be in good hands, no need to worry." Mike assured her.
"Mr. and Mrs. Duncan, I just want to apologize, again. I really didn't expect any of this.." Austin said. He felt so bad about this, that I felt bad about it.
"Well, maybe you should have." My mom said before getting up and walking upstairs.
"She's just upset. She'll be fine in a couple of days." My dad told Austin. At least he was supporting this, he knew that Austin's career could be ruined by a tiny mistake, and he wasn't going to let that mistake be me.

"We're here with Austin Mahone, who kicks off the MTV Artist to Watch tour in a little less than a month now! Austin how are you doing?" Kelly Ripa asked Austin.
"I'm doing great, thanks." Austin said all smiles.
"Well, that's good. We hear that you're newly dating. Is that true?" She asked. She was wearing a bright blue dress with a pearl necklace and earrings accompanied by yellow high heel shoes.
