My head was pounding. I moaned and stretched. I was a wreck from head to toes. I moved my hand around to search for my glasses."What's this ?" I mumbled.
I was laying on the floor. My hand was holding Viktor's ponytail as if it was my teddy bear. There were five of us sprawled on the carpet in the living room.
"What the—"
"Morning' ! And congrats ! You were such a, well, you know, last night !" Otabek complimented while he was on the couch sipping his daily coffee.
"Uh, thanks, I guess ?"
I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate myself. It hurt. Badly. I started regaining memory bit by bit.
"Do it again !" Viktor encouraged me.
I laughed. Alright, I could do that. I lifted one leg, then the other. I swung myself in the air. I moved in sync with the music. I shook my arm and torso and did another figure. I ended the show with split.
Yurio was figuratively fuming. He tried to jump in the air a few times but ended up on the floor.
"I forfeit !" he angryly grunted.
"Please do ! Onegaishimasu." I bowed with seriousness. He screamed in despair. He such a diva, I thought.
"I won the dance-off ! You all are my eye-witnesses !" I boasted. Viktor leaned to support himself on my shoulders.
"I knew you would. You've got some self-confidence hidden there, I see." he slurred.
"You have no idea ! This isn't much, so wait till' you see the real me." I exclamed.
"Can't wait."
I tried to concentrate again but a smell disrupted me. Bacon and eggs. I lifted my head and saw Christophe, only wearing jeans and a frilly apron, next to the stove. He was holding an orange-juice filled glass and there was a heavyly-buttered toast in his mouth. He flipped the eggs in one swift motion before he put them in a plate where bacon was already waiting to get eaten.
I got up and tried to sit on on of the only vacant chairs of the counter. I almost tripped on a body on my way there. It was Phichit's. He had a weird hat on.
"I never would have guessed ! I" laughed.
"I know, right ? I mean, I totally hid it. From everyone. From you. You have no idea of how good it feels," he explained happyly.
"Wait, we're still talking about the same thing ? How bad was the anime adaptation of Omoi no Kakera ?" I asked him.
"Of course not !" he complained.
"Then what are we talking about ? We've been chatting about Mika all night, the girl from the anime," I protested.
"No, we weren't," he argued.
"Then what ?" I had no clue.
"Yuuri, listen, just for this once. I told you that I'm gay !" Phichit screamed.
I still remembered how he managed to say all that with only the seriousness one can have while wearing a sombrero. Phichit made his coming out last night. He announced to everyone that he was gay and that he assumed it. I thought that everyone was cool with it. Viktor said it was alright. He was such an open-minded dude. What did he say, again ? I wondered. Although my capacity of concentration has reached its limits, I bet it was something like «It's fine ! You're fine, you're gay, just be yourself. I like girls and dudes and look at me ! I exude confidence. » I was sure about the girls and dudes part, though.
"Breakfast's ready ! How do you say, in Japanese ? You know, the thing before eating," wondered Christophe. He set a plate in front of me. When I picked up my fork (these things look like tiny tridents), he gave me the look.
"Alright, I sighed. Itadakimasu !" I said sarcastically. I started eating and realized it was pretty good, actually.
I jumped when Viktor sat next to me.
"Koba-chan~" he singsonged. "Don't eat too much or you'll get fat," he stated more seriously.
I had to admit he was right. I always had the tendency of gaining weight easily. I thought it came from my parents. I took my fourth piece of toast out of my mouth. Viktor grabbed it as soon as it touched the plate. I guessed it wasn't that much of a deal for him, considering the amount of people he must have kissed.
"What are we doing today ?" I asked while yawning.
"Not much. Just hanging around and sleeping. We need to recover from this hungover. After all, we have an important event to attend tonight," he warned me and winked.
"What ? And no one informed me ?" I started to worry about the event. What sort of people would be there, what food would we eat, what was it for...and the list went on forever.
"Calm yourself ! It's only a formality. The champions will pass an interview for some England journal. The Weekly Protest ?"
"The Daily Prophet ! Kuso !" I cursed in Japanese. I was certain I would get stressed out and say all kind of crazy things that would make me look weirder than I already was.
"Daijobu, he calmed me. I'll be there with you. There's absolutly no reason to worry at all ! And, how's your leg ? You were pretty wild, last night. I would never I guessed you were such a party person !"
"My leg ?"
I took a peek at it and realized I there was a trail of bruises on my thights and knees. It only happened to me once in the past. Back in Japan, I went to a ballet class. At least, I thought it was one. After the first class, I realized it was a pole dance class. Since it was already paid for and they wouldn't give us our money back, I attended the classes without anyone knowing. It was a part of my life I'd rather forget.
"I did it, didn't I," I sighed and hid my face in my hands.
"Yeah ! But you weren't alone. Christophe did it, too. Yurio tried, I think but he stopped because he looked dumb next to such experimented people," Viktor explained and flipped his hair dramatically.
"Should I thank you ?"
"Should you ?" Viktor's expression was kawaii.
"It doesn't matter. For now, let's sleep."
I pushed a sleeping body from a couch and crashed on it. I curled in ball and sang myself to sleep. I needed to rest.
I was afraid of dreaming about a pole. Or a sombrero. Or cat food.
