Walking in the rusty green school gate was torture. My mum holding tightly onto my hand like always. As if I was a five-year-old. Girls sitting on the benches relaxing and gossiping as if they wasn't in school but instead laying on the beach. One of them with blond hair sitting on the edge of the bench glares at me with her sky blue eyes, then whispers to the ginger haired girl sitting next to her giggling... obviously something about me.

The boys playing football around the place like it was their last few hours on earth. Passing and shooting while doing little tricks here and there. While some of the short year 7's tried to catch up with the older boys. Every boy that ran passed me made sure to share a look at me first. And no it wasn't one of them cute, flirtatious looks it was more of a confused and disagreeing look. Some even laughed as soon as they saw my mums hand tightly held onto mine.

I look down once more at what I was wearing. I haven't yet got the school uniform so I put on anything and by anything I mean.

. My old Nike's

. The usual torn up jeans I wore whenever I didn't give a damn

. My usual black T-Shirt

. And of course the necklace my boyfriend gave me 2 years ago

Brian is the only person I ever trust and am comfortable talking to about my feelings. He's always there for me and is always willing to listen now that's why I love him, not to mention he's incredibly hot.

As soon as we walked into the reception the warm air hit our faces. The place looked more welcoming than the other school's I've been to. There was a large sign saying 'Welcome To Thomson Secondary School' with a smiley face at the end... which felt a bit too welcoming, it almost felt fake....

"Hello there, can I help you with anything?" The reception lady said sharing glances at me and my mum and smiling happily.

"Oh yes, This is my daughter and today's her first day here, But she doesn't have her timetable yet"

"Ok, " she says before looking at the computer in front of her. "What's your nam, dear?"

"Vanessa," I say almost in a whisper. I was surprised she even heard me.

"Now that's a lovely name. Can I get your last name please?"

"Jackson," I said even quieter than before

"Lovely name. Okay I will be just a second, feel free to take a seat" she said before walking deeper into the office, the only thing I could hear in there was her high hills hitting the floor.

My mum was the first to take a seat on one of the couches.
After a couple seconds a bell went off, causing the outside to be neglected. Without the crowd of children there, it made the whole place seem bigger and less suffocating.
Waiting for the office lady felt like an eternity. But after awhile she came with a piece of paper.

After the long goodbye with my mum, I was stood in front of a door with a sign saying 'English 7'
English huh? This is gonna be one hell of a long day. I open the door slowly to see...
