(December 12, three days until the wedding)

Austin had just dropped Austy and I at our home. He was off to the studio. I pulled Austy closer to me and took a deep breath. I ventured the path to the front door. I inserted the keys and twisted the door opened. I was met by cool air. I slowly entered the house while closing the door. Austy started giggling out of no where.

"Are you happy to be back?" I asked to enthustatic baby. He just started giggling more. I smiled even bigger and brought him up to his room. I laid him in his crib, while I went back downstairs to prepare his bottle. When I entered the living room there was my note crumbled up and a new note.

I may or may not show up.
-Alex

I sighed at thinking he won't be there. I shook the thought away. I crumbled his note and picked mine up, both directed to the trash. Suddenly there was a rushed knock on the door. I carefully walked over and checked through the peephole to see Momma and Papa Constancio. I opened the door, they looked at me in shock. I stepped out of the way, giving them the hint to enter. As they did Austy let out a scream. My motherly instincts made me run upstairs to check the crying child.

The baby was red with tear stained cheeks. He was shifting all over the bed, uncomfortable. I picked him up to comfort him, but something was off. He was burning hot. I quickly peeled off his clothes to lower his teperature, It didn't help. He was still blazing. I was more than worried. I quickly  picked him up before dashing down the stairs. Well as fast as I could with a child. I looked up to see Momma Constancio giving me a worried look.

"He's burning up." I quickly said. A high fever is very dangerous to a small baby. It could cause damge to the child as he is still developing. Momma rushed to my side and felt his arm.

"Get a cold damp cloth." Momma order Papa. He rushed into the kitchen for the cloth. He came back very soon. We sat on the couch and placed the cloth onto the child he seemed more calmed.  Yet he was still burning. "I think we should take him to the doctor. His fever isn't going down." I gave her a nod as I just wanted him to get better. Austy then let out another shrill cry. I felt so helpless as I carried the child out the door in his car seat. I placed him in my car as momma and papa went in their own.

Passing a few blocks i reached the hospital. I ran into the E.R. which surprisingly was only filled with a few people. Soon a nurse took Austy from me. I tried to follow but someone else stopped me, asking me to fill out the paper work. I did what I was told. I tried to ask for my child once again but they shot me down, telling me to 'calm down' and to 'wait in the waiting room'. I sat in one of the uncomfortable plastic blue chairs, pulling my legs up to my chest and hugging them close. I tried to steady my breathing, becasue when I was younger(16 and below) I would get panic attacks. I still get some, but nothing major. Alex helps me through them.

Alex. I sighed as his thought invaded my mind. Heavy footsteps were coming closer, another emergency. The person was breathing heavily as they had came running. I tilted my head up to see the person. The one and only, Alex. His eyes made contact with mine, he walked towards me and wrapped his arms around me. I melted in his grip and hugged back as tightly. "I'm so sorry." He whispered in my ear. I pulled away from his grip, then slapped him. He looked dumbfounded then shock it off. "I deserved that." His hand went up to his cheek, rubbing it slighty as it tinted a red color. I then grabbed the sides of his head and pulled him into a kiss, which he returned hesitantly.

"it's okay." We stayed together in eachother's arms as we waited for a while. "I thought you were in Texas." I mumbled after a bit of silence.

"I lied. I wanted to be close but not too close." He replied.

"Parents of Austin Jay Constancio?" A female doctor had appeared from a door. I hastily walked to the door, Alex hot on my lead. She nodded her head towards us, "He's going to be okay. He had a high fever, which we treated with a bit of medicine and a cooling jet. He should be fine. He's allowed to go home tonight. Austin will need to be supervised by an adult. If he starts to develop a temperature, place a cool damp clothe on his head or belly. Every two hours for two days, give him a bit of medicine. Any questions?" She said in a professional tone, yet, sympathetic.

"No. Thank you so much." Alex replied, relieved washed over the two of us.

"You're welcome, now one of you come fill out the release form while the nurse gets the child ready." Alex followed the doctor and I went to the nurse. The nurse was pulling Austin out of an incubator. He looked so peaceful and calm. The nurse looked up at me and smiled. She placed a blue beanie on his head before coming out of the room and handing me Austin. I looked at her thankfully and smiled down at my son, who was curling up to my chest. I kissed his head and pulled him out to where Alex should be. There he was recieving a plastic bag, which contained the medicine for Austin.

He looked over to us and smiled. He came over to us and hugged me carefully. We walked out of the hospital quietly. We walked to my car, I placed Austin in his car seat. I sat in the back while Alex drove. It was quiet ride, but tiring.

As we got home, Austin was already asleep. He was silently laying on my chest as I laid in Alex's and I's bed.

I'm guessing I ended up falling asleep. Becuase the next morning I woke up in Alex's arms. Austy's portable crib was right next to our bed. He was silently sleeping. I cuddled closer into him, burying my head into his chest. His grip tightened, which made me feel safe. Two more days.
