A Beautiful Thief- Gerard Piqué

Chapter Four

"What happened to her? Everything was fine" Gerard asked.

"Doctors say it was brought on by extreme stress , as I'm sure you're aware her and her mother have been at odds recently" Leona stated

"Why the hell didn't she tell me? " Gerard shouted making both Leona and Leo flinch . Furious that she'd given him no indication, no warning that she wasn't okay.

"I'm sorry , I thought you knew"

"I don't want her to die!" That word felt like poison in his mouth. He looked at Leona with so much emotion the older woman felt the need to console him.

"No one does" she said

"Take me to her" he gritted out. He needed to be close to her , to see what doctors were doing to help.

"I'm sorry but I can't. However I can take you to the nursery, maybe we can see your son"
Gerard turned to his friend asking if he was coming.

"I'll stay here and let everyone know what's going on" he insisted.

With a nod Gerard turned away and followed Leona.

Once at the nursery Leona left him alone.

He stepped up to a small incubator which housed his son. His son looked tiny , his bottom covered in a nappy that looked too big and his hair hidden by the white cap. Wires extended from his fragile body and his tiny mouth that looked just like his mother's was set in an adorable pout. His son was definitely a miniature version of Sierra , he couldn't see any of his features in his son but then again his eyes were closed so maybe just maybe his son got one of his features. He looked down at the card attached to the incubator

           D.O.B : 22 January 2013

His heart ached. She had not only given their son his last name but she chose the name he had suggested .

Hang on Sierra, please fight for our son
He said a silent prayer hoping that someone was listening.
