A Beautiful Thief- Gerard Piqué

The terms of Gerard's settlement had chilled her to the bone.  She had called Adrianna multiple times in a rage about the various points of the contract until she was tired of yelling.  Both Adrianna and Gerard's lawyer had decided it would be better for the former couple to discuss the settlement one on one first before they intervened.  In Sierra's mind this ment Gerard had won and that made her very angry so she held off the talk with Gerard for a whole four weeks until the footballer decided enough was enough.

Gerard had never been in Sierra's new apartment.  The open plan lounge/ kitchen was tiny buy everything seemed to fit in just fine.  Sierra cast him a quick glance as she stepped away from the door. 
Her figure,  voluptuous as ever but it was the new curve that made him bite back a gasp. Until now "pregnant" had been just a word used in emails and conversation.  Sierra wore a wool dress that hung loose except around her stomach where her bump poked out. 

Her pale, slender hand opened over the small bump.  She looked a little smaller than she should be but he couldn't be sure. He looked up and saw a flash of vulnerability in her eyes.  Thankfully she looked away ,  Gerard had to remind himself not to let her get to him.  But he couldn't take his eyes off her stomach , his hand itched to stroke that bump.

"I'm having a glass of water , would you like anything? "

"No.  I'm fine"  he ground out.  He was still feeling upset over her remark that the baby may not be his. 
Sierra noded at directed him to the small table and went to get her water.

He sat across from her on her small dinning table. He needed to know the truth ,  he didn't understand why she was tormenting him.
Sierra had just taken a sip of water when he spoke.

"I want medical reports" he said rather harshly.

Sierra flinched "I don't have a problem with sharing updates about the baby with you"

Gerard noted that she had edited the settlement with little pencil marks.
The first note being that the settlement would only begin after the baby was born and if he was proven to be the father.
He noted that it said IF and not WHEN.
The second note was that Sierra refused to give Gerard custody of her baby. That annoyed him because if the baby was his he didn't want Sierra in the picture.  She was a thief and thieves couldn't make good parents.

"Just tell me Sierra , is there another man who could be the father? I always thought you enjoyed monogamy"

"What makes you think you ever knew me Gerard? "

He flinched at the coldness of her tone.  Clearly that cold water had seeped into her viens.

"Oh and don't ever bring up our past relationship during these discussions"

"Why are you refusing to give me full custody Sierra?  You and I both know I'll take you to court and I'll win hands down.  Plus what makes you think you'd be a fit mother? "

Tears pricked her eyes "This is my baby Gerard and no one not even you will take it away from me! "

"I guess we'll let the judge decide and once they see that you're a thief ,  game over sweetheart"

Sierra stood up immediately

"Get out of my house." Her voice was wobbly with unshed tears

Gerard instantly felt bad for antagonising her.  However she had stolen from him but he didn't know why.
Before he left Gerard turned to Sierra

"Why did you steal from me? Was it always about the money? "

"No it wasn't.  I wasn't stealing ,  I was borrowing it and I had every intention of paying it back"
She looked so sincere when she said it ,  but Gerard refused to be conned again.  She was a thief end of discussion.

"Sure you were.  " he replied sarcastically.
Sierra didn't have a chance to respond before he was out the door.
