A Beautiful Thief- Gerard Piqué

Chapter Six

Though she had been nervous about Gerard's parents visiting she had agreed for them to come and meet their grandson.
Gerard's parents had been so overjoyed when they had held Milan for the first time.
"I didn't think he'd give me a grandchild anytime soon" Montserrat admitted. Sierra had met Montserrat and Joan once before but after what went down between her and Gerard, being in the same house was awkward.
After a brief conversation with his parents it was clear that they thought they were together. She managed to drag Gerard to the kitchen in a pretense of checking on lunch
"Your parents think we're together" she hissed when they made it to the kitchen.
"How crazy is that, since we have a baby and all" He drawled  rolling his eyes.
"You should tell them we aren't" she hissed
"Why?" He asked sounding exasperated
His attitude pissed her off. Considering that Montserrat and Joan were being incredibly polite and not asking questions. His excuse was that if he tried to clarify their relationship then his parents would ask about marriage. No that she wanted to marry him. Despite having cleared the air she knew they wouldn't go back to how they used to be, he didn't love her. However she knew how easy it was to fall back under his spell. He had broken her heart once before and she couldn't let him do it again.

Montserrat and Joan had left  two days later with a promise to visit again soon. Before leaving however Montserrat had requested a word with Sierra. That request had made Sierra uneasy but the older woman had been quick to put her at ease. She had expressed her disappointment in her son for putting Sierra through so much public humiliation but she had asked Sierra not to give up on her son
"I know what he did to you will still be fresh in people's minds and many will still judge you but don't give up on him he loves you he's just too stubborn to admit it"
Montserrat's parting words had stayed with Sierra but she doubted that Gerard loved her.

She had kept replaying the older womans words repeatedly over the next two months and at some points she had started to believe it when he would do sweet things for her. They had just finished having dinner when he made his announcement
"I've been nominated for an award in Madrid and I was hoping we could fly out together and attend"
"I thought you hated award ceremonies?" Sierra questioned. He simply shrugged in response " Surely you could attend without dragging Milan and I?" She muttered.
Gerard sipped his juice slowly before speaking "I would like you to go with me and a lot of my teammates want to meet Milan and see you again."
She paled at his statement knowing the press and the other WAGs would be curious about the sudden turn of events. She thought about how beautiful the WAGs would look and she felt inadequate to be his date.
Even though it had been three months since Milan was born she still felt insecure about her body.
"I've never attended that sort of thing with you before" she argued
"We'll there's a first time for everything, isn't there?" He stared directly at her in a silent challenge with his eyes, she knew he wouldn't take no for an answer.
"We have no one to watch Milan"
"Actually I do have someone" he smirked.
She smirked in defeat as it became clear she had no more excuses.
"Gerard"
"This is an important moment I want to share with you, Sierra. Please don't argue"
Wow he said he wanted share that moment with her. It made her heart flutter.
