Chapter 10

The next morning Rey awoke to the sound of hollers outside her door. She didn't exactly know why so that's what got her to investigate the noises of excitement.

Shouts and cheers filled her ears as she went to put on something to wear. The simple cloth was soft against her frame and Rey concluded it was quite nice.

Reaching up she went to tie her hair up into something simple. The loose strands insisted getting in front her face, blocking her vision and annoying her.

"Time to find out what these idiots are doing."

Finishing off her top knot she crept out of the room slowly, the sounds got louder and Rey swore she could hear screaming through the shouts.

Hopefully she was hearing something but something told her that it wasn't an illusion.

"What the hell are you fools doing?"

Rey crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at the men. She continued to glare before realizing why they were laughing.

Suddenly her face contorted into twisted anger.

"What the actual hell are you doing to that poor girl? You all are freakish monsters!"

Running forward she threw her arms around the person quivering in the middle of the circle of men. Her clothes were torn, her hair ratted, and tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Girl step away."

"No! You shall not touch her you arses!"

Rey swatted at them before helping the girl to her feet. She looked around her age or a little younger. Either way she looked very small and vulnerable.

"Are you okay?"

The girl shook her head still quivering in fear.

"Your captain will hear about this!"

In response she heard snickers and "yeah right."

"He will! I'll make sure you all walk the plank!"

Rey scoffed before turning away, her arm still wrapped around the girl.

"Here, we can go to my room then we could figure out where you're supposed to be. Does that sound good? Do you have a family?"

The girl nodded before crying once again.

"Here, we will be safe in here," She helped her sit on bed. "What's your name?"

"BB, well my full name is Beatrice Brown."

"Where did you come from?"

"The Resistance. T-these First Order pirates captured me..."

"Don't worry, you're safe now and I'm going to get you home."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

"You're an idiot!"

"Uh huh..."

"And so are your men!"

"What's wrong with my men?"

Rey rolled her eyes before crossing her arms across her chest. Ren simply looked amused at her annoyed expression.

"They were hurting this poor girl —"

"That's not my problem."

"It should be!" Rey stepped forward and poked a finger into his chest. "That poor girl is traumatized."

Ren didn't respond at first instead he cupped her cheek gently leaving Rey breathless for a moment.

"I'm sorry Princess...but that's still not my problem..."

He seemed to have moved his face closer to hers and Rey seemed to snap out of it at that moment.

"Then make it your problem!" She stormed towards the door. "You're nothing better than your crew, you're a cruel heartless monster just like them."

And with that she was gone.
