A few days passed as Peggy and I we’re anxious together. While I was patching up another soldier who suffered from a stab wound from the chest. I was the name around the area. All the soldiers would talk about was how great of a nurse I was and how happy they were to see me. That I was the best of the best. Colonel Phillips came by my tent as he takes his hat off and holds it close to his chest. It took me one look at him as my heart shatter in my chest. I felt the pieces of my heart sinking to my stomach freezing up. A lump in my throat that wouldn't go down or disappear. I wanted to cry right there on the spot but I couldn't. Tears wouldn't come out. What was I thinking? Telling Steve to be careful to promise me he'll be back. That he bring Bucky back. After a moment of silence I breathe out and suck in air. I look at him as my face was stone hard. No emotions attached.

"I want to fight." The words escaped my lips.

"Whether you like it or not. I'll have Agent Carter train me if you say no." I added as he nods his head.

He wouldn't tell me no. He knows I'll go to Peggy. Peggy will train me but instead he trained me himself. I learned how to load and shoot a gun. To disarm and fight with knives. I learned how to do hand-to-hand combat. I was training with the other Soldiers the only woman in the group besides Peggy. While I wasn't training, I was stitching up soldiers that came back. Multitasking and I was good at it.

I was now on nurse duty. I was so proud of my other nurses they were doing so great in their training. Ginger had steady hands and Alice didn't vomit when we had to amputate.  I could hear some noises coming outside the tent. As if there was a war going on. No gunshots at all just a bunch of men cheering and hands clapping. I ran out and see a bunch of men walking to our camp.

"Alright ladies. Looks like we got a bunch of injured lads coming in. Get ready!" I tell them as they clear off surfaces and set their tools out. As soon as we set our tools out clearing off space to lay the soldiers on we run out of the tent. The nurses spread out into the crowd as my eyes scan it.

"Hey! Let’s hear it for Captain America!”

The voice made me push through the crowd until I got to the small opening where Steve, Bucky, and several other men stood. My heart filled with hope. I didn’t hesitate to run over to where Bucky stood next to Steve. My body collides with the two boys.

"Told you I'd make it back." Steve says as I hit his shoulder.

"Took you long enough, you stupid idiots." I pull away. Bucky grinned and leaned forward. I already had my hand on his dog tags and pulled his lips to mine. His arms wrap around my waist. We pull apart and smile.

"I missed a lot, didn't I?" Steve asked as I giggled.

"You sure did, pal." Bucky grins. I pull away from Bucky.

"All injured and need medical attention follow us to the medic tent." I shout to the crowd. The other nurse repeat my words as I lead a large group to the medical tent. My last patient was in fact Bucky. All the other soldiers were done and I was proud of my nurses.

"Did you miss me?" Bucky asked with a small smile.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I did." I chuckle as I clean up his wounds. My smile faded as I see the rips and tares covered in blood on his shirt.

"I'd cry myself to sleep hoping to wake up and see you in the medical tent. Most nights I didn't sleep." I turn around and wash out the cloth in a bowl of water.

"I'm back. I'm alive. I'm with you." He says standing up from the bench and spins me around. He leaned down as I felt his lips touch mine. Bucky broke away from the kiss and looked down at me as my cheeks flushed pink.

“You don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to do that.” He whispered. I couldn’t help but laugh.

"We just kissed not even 3 hours ago."

"Your kisses are addicting. I'm glad I did it." He smirks. He sits back on the bench.

“I’m glad you did it too. Some of these men think they have a chance with me.” I mumbled. I could feel him smirking as I turn my back to him cleaning my tools.

“Marry me.” He said. I turn around as I choked on my own spit.

"What?" I asked wide eyes. I must have misheard him.

"Marry me." He repeats. My hand flew to my mouth as I shook my head.

"Have you lost your mind? We haven't even made us offical or anything." I asked him. He shakes his head and chuckles.

“I can’t imagine another day without you being mine. I can’t imagine you being with anyone else. You are the one girl I want to see when I come back from my missions. When I'm not on a mission I want to go to bed and wake up with you beside me.” He told me. I was baffled. He gets up from the bench walking over to me.

"I might not have a ring yet but I want you to be mine, forever. So, will you do the honors?" He says.

“I would love to be your wife.” I told him. He smiled and kissed me. I laughed as he picked me up and spun me around.

"Should we tell Steve?" I asked. Bucky thinks for a minute and shakes his head.

"Lets give it time. Wait for the right moment." He says as I nod my head.
