Chapter 12

Sorry for not updating guys, i broke the internet on my laptop so it wouldn't let me log onto wattpad and it was really slow so i have to use the desk top computer downstairs, but it's all good, because it worked for Johnny's Little Sister a few minutes ago!!! But we're almost up to 500 reads, we're at 455 currently, and this has 14 votes and 15 comments. I think it's good for this story.... Okay here's chapter 12!!!

Summer and I finally managed to push Dally into the water without going in ourselves. Now it was just me, Summer, and Pony, Johnny jumped in earlier, sitting on the dock. Summer was trying to convince Pony to go in the water but he kept refusing. I was watching the sun get lower in the sky on the edge of the dock. I was still wearing my jean shorts over my bathing suit bottoms and had my feet dangling over the edge. “Summer no amount of begging will get me to go in the water.” Pony said and I chuckled. “Would you go in if I went in Pony?” I asked and turned to look at him. “Possibly, if you think the water isn’t cold.” He said cocking an eyebrow. I laughed at him, he looked weird trying to imitate Two-Bit. “Hey, don’t laugh at me.” Pony whined crossing his arms. “Sorry I can’t help it.” I said and stood up from the edge and walked over to them. I put my sunglasses back in my bag and took off my shorts. Summer walked over to the edge of the dock so I ran over and shoved her. She fell to the water creating a splash and I smiled in victory. The others that were down in the water were laughing at her and she screamed at me, “I hate you.” So I replied back, “Love you too.” I turned back to Pony to see that he was now shirtless. I looked at his body for a minute. He had a better build than I thought. His muscles were well defined and noticeable, but they weren’t as impressive as Darry’s. I quickly looked back at his face so he wouldn’t know I was staring. I smiled at him. “Okay I’ll jump in first then you jump in.” I said and he nodded. Something didn’t feel right. I didn’t feel like anything bad was going to happen just suspicious. I looked over the edge to see everyone looking up at us. “Hey look, Cleo got Pony to come in.” Soda shouted and I smiled. I was about to back up to run and jump in but I felt two hands on my waist. I knew it was Pony. He pushed me over the edge but before I could fall I grabbed his arms and pulled him in too. We plunged downwards into the water. It was a little cold at first but I got used to it fast. I resurfaced and saw everyone laughing at me. “Hey I pulled him in after he pushed me.” I said defensively. They all shut up after that. The rest of the day was uneventful. We played in the water and splashed around some. We had a water war and it was boys against girls but surprisingly Summer and I won. Once we were getting ready to leave I sat and watched the sunset with Summer, Pony, and Johnny to get a tan and to dry off. I didn’t want my truck to get all wet inside.

Her hardest hue to hold,

Then leaf subsides to leaf,

Ponyboy recited “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost as the sun began to dip behind the trees. We all looked at him. “Where’d you learn that?” I asked, I had always liked that poem. I was one of the few people who knew the meaning of it in school. “I learned it in school and always remembered it because I didn’t understand it.” He said and looked back at me. “I know the meaning of it; I was one of the only people who understood it.” I said looking back at the sky. “Yea Johnny figured out the meaning while he was in the hospital. He wrote me a letter when he thought he was going to die and explained it.” He said and I could tell Johnny and Summer were in their own little worlds. Hmm… They would look cute together, I wonder….

UGH.... sorry for another short chapter but i hope you guys like it!!! If this story sounds boring right now, trust me it isn't... There's action, romance, and most importantly fighting!!! I decided i'm going to update this whenever i update Johnny's Little Sister and if you aren't reading that one yet you should!!! Please, please, please tell me what you guys think!!!
