Protector or Destroyer

"Why are you guys being chased? Why are you hiding?"

I look into their eyes. All of them tries to avoid mine. It's making me more suspicious than I already am.

Kai stood up. "Because of this." he put his hand in front of him, I thought he's going to make water appear just like what Suho did but something different appeared instead. It becomes clear after a few seconds.

It's a crystal.

Grayish blue in color, the size of his fist.

"This is what they want." he said bitterly. He closes his hand and went back to sit at the sofa. I can't tell if he's angry or upset.

"Daemons are one with nature. We belong to this world as much as humans do but we all know humans dominate this land more than anything else." Says Dr. Leeteuk.

"Daemons are everywhere. Humans just don't see us unless we let them." says Xuimin.

"We have peaceful life but everything changed when a mysterious daemon who calls himself Hades took over the daemon kingdom. He killed the king and queen and took over in ruling our race." says Suho.

"And he will not stop there. Now he wanted to end the rule of humans on Earth. He wants to take control and make the daemons the dominating creatures on this planet." says Chanyeol.

"That's horrible!"

"The thing is, almost all the daemons agree with him. They were sick of the humans constantly destroying nature. There were only a few groups of daemons who oppose to this plan, who still care about the humans" says Lay.

"What is he going to do with us?"

"Slaves. He's going to make humans suffer from all the damage they caused on nature then force them to be slaves to our kind." says Kyungsoo.

I cross my arms in front of me. I suddenly feel chilly. I haven't met this Hades but something tells me he's one nasty villain.

"How does he intend to do this plan? When will he attack humans?"

"Once he gets the Guardian Twelve." says Kai.

"Guardian Twelve?"

"Among all the daemons there are what we call Guardians. Twelve special daemons destined to protect all life on Earth. Daemons with godlike super powers." says Leeteuk.

"He intends to use the Guardian Twelve against the humans?"

"That's his plan." says Suho.

I look around them. Weirdly, all of them are staring down at their hand. At their tattoo.

"And you guys are those twelve."

Nobody answered. It's not a question anyway. It's a fact they don't need to confirm.

"Where's the other three?"

Kai look up at me. "Unfortunately, Hades already got them."

They all looked sad. Even Dr. Leeteuk.

"I failed to save them." he said. He looks down to his hand.

"Hades is a powerful daemon. You've done all you can to protect and guide us, don't blame yourself." Lay walk to his side and put his hand on Dr. Leeteuk's shoulder.

"There's ten of you and four of them. Surely you guys can defeat them together just like how you did with that daemon at school." I said.

"You're forgetting the rest of our kind; benevolence and malevolence are on their side." says Chen.
