Suspicious Amber

As quietly as I can, I open the door. There's a huge possibility that Amber's not here yet. Dinner had started a few minutes ago, and knowing Amber, she will never be late for food.

"You're back!"

I almost dropped the history book on my feet. Amber jumped and hugged me.

"Uhm, I can explain."

She let go of me. "Explain what? Your chickenpox?" she chuckles.

"Chickenpox?"

"You know, for someone who had chickenpox recently, you don't seem to have scars anywhere." she said as she scans my face and arms. "Dr. Leeteuk said yours is pretty severe."

"Oh! Ah yeah! Chickenpox! Yeah, I got chickenpox! I mean I had chickenpox but I'm cured now. Thanks to Dr. Leeteuk." That explains why no one seems to find it strange that I was gone for almost a week without school knowledge.

"I gotta say that's pretty neat avoiding the exams although not much, 'cause special exams are really tough."

I gasped. Exams! I haven't studied anything!

There was a knock on the door. Amber answered it.

"There are male students waiting for you Ms. Jung at the lobby." says Madam Kang, the landlady.

"Male students? Who?" Amber asks.

"They said their names are Do Kyungsoo, Kim Chen and Kim Xiumin." Madam Kang said bitterly.

Amber gasped. "The weirdos?!"

"I gotta go." I told her. I put my things on my bed, grabbed my charger and school bag.

"Where are you going?" Amber asks.

"I'll be right back." I run out of the room before both Madam Kang and Amber say anything. I almost fly through the stairs. I don't know why they are here but it can only mean it's something urgent.

I reached the lobby within a minute.

"What's wrong?" I asked them.

"Princess situation." they answered in unison.

I enter Dr. Leeteuk's library with caution.

"Princess?"

No answer.

"I know you're in here."

I closed the door. Nine daemons are waiting outside. They told me that after arriving the princess suddenly disappeared. They searched the whole house but can't find her. Although they know she's still in the house because they can sense her presence.

We've checked every room and the library is the last one.

I took a sit at the couch. "You know you can't hide from me."

I heard a sigh followed by footsteps. She came out of her hiding spot.

"Why are you hiding from them?" I asked as she voluntarily sit next to me.

"They're scaring me." She said, looking down at her feet.

I chuckled. "Don't be." I look up, thinking on how to describe my daemon friends" Those nine are just a bunch of weirdos." remembering what Amber thinks of them.

She shook her head, not entirely believing me. "I've seen them in battle, every single one of them can kill in a blink of an eye."

My mind went back to that night when I saw Kai battling with those three malevolence. He killed them without mercy then he tried to kill me too.
