Last year, you moved here and immediately fell for Denis, your neighbor.
Drama, tears, and muc...
Wednesday. Sophia's funeral. You wanted to go, but you also didn't. You knew you would just break down and cry. She was your best friend. It hadn't even fully hit you yet. You ended up going, and Denis came too. Raining. Cliche. The funeral was located at the cemetery, she didn't write anything about what she wanted to be done with her body.

Everybody was there. Even Braden and Alex showed up. Even Elijah. The person you were most interested to talk to though was Kermit. She was wearing the yin yang friendship necklace that Sophia had given her and she had tear stains on her eyes. "Hey." You said softly "Oh, hey, y/n." She said without any expression. "How you doing, hon?" You asked, "Okay, I guess" she shook her head "I know you're lying. Come here," you said, hugging her. She began to cry and so did you. It was like losing another family member. You thought about Jimmy. This is the second person you've lost in 1 year, a bit extreme don't you think? Denis walked up behind you and gently touched your back. You stood up. "Oh, I didn't see you there," you said, wiping your tears. "How are things going?" He asked "It's going." You replied sniffling. Denis hugged you. "I wish I could have said goodbye." You cried a bit into his tux but he didn't seem to care. "I know, I miss her too." He said, holding you tighter, You nodded and let go, though you didn't really want to. The ceremony started and a pope walked around, which surprised you, Sophia was an atheist. He said a few nice things about her, and then the speeches were starting. Kermit stood up, but it was obvious she didn't want to. She walked up with shaken knees but said her speech which was written on a piece of paper. "Sophia, was my best friend. And I was her sister. And we loved each other so much. She was always so outgoing and happy. All this was a surprise. I was friends with Sophia for about a year when we met a girl, y/n. All of us immediately became best friends, through Sophia. She bonded us together. Sophia was, and still will always be a beautiful and wonderful girl. And even though she's gone, she left somebody here for me, like a new sister." Kermit looked up at you. "Y/n. She left y/n here for me. And we'll be sisters too." She was going to cry again. "And before we close her coffin, I want to give her her side of my necklace." She walked over to her open coffin, where Sophia's curly hair was wrapped snugly in a beanie. The one she always wore. And Kermit wrapped the black side of the necklace around her neck, then motioned for you to come and give yours too. You tied it around her neck and they closed the coffin. That was it. That was the last time you'd ever see her face again. Your very own best friends. Kermit couldn't even stay the whole service. Elijah had to take her home. Even though the service was supposed to be a perfect one, nothing can ever go right. A woman, probably in her 50's walked in, she had blonde hair, was extremely tall, and wore blue eyeliner. Even though the service was practically over, and nobody was around anymore except for Denis, Braden, and Alex, she walked right over to the coffin. "Is this her? In here?" She asked you. "Yes. But you are you?" You asked, wiping your tears again "I'm her mother. I'm here to take Mathew back and spit on this worthless child's grave." She said while giving the coffin a dirty look. Denis saved it. "Missy? Missy is that you?" He asked, walking towards you, with his hands in his pockets "Denis?! What are you doing here?" She smiled and gave him a slight push. You mouthed the words 'this is the girl? Ew.' Denis chuckled "long time no see." He said to her. "Yeah! You should come over! I live in Vancouver now!" She said, yanking Mathew by his arm. "Hey! Let me go you old witch!" He yanked his arm around but she kept a tight grip of it "Sorry. My mother always taught me to stay away from the dumb bitches." Denis pointed to his brain and her mouth dropped open. "O! Mathew, get in that car! We're going home!" She screeched. "Um, no. Not so fast." Jenny said, putting her hand out. Where did she come from? "Get out of my way, Jenny!" Missy brushed passed her shoulder and tryied to get out the door. "Well I have it here. In writing. 'The brother of Sophia Fischer, Mather Fischer, is to go to the closest relative who isn't his mother. They found out you abused them." Jenny said, standing like a BAWSE even your mouth dropped open. You saw Denis staring too. "Gimme that!" The blonde said, reading over he contract. She dropped Mathews arm and he instantly ran over to Jenny's side. She got extremely red and raged out the door, her black heels clicking on her way out. "Wait, but what happens to me?" The small boy asked, tugging on Jenny's shirt. "Oh honey, you're gonna come with me okay? We're gonna have a new life together." Jenny leaned down and hugged the child who was crying. "Come on. We should be going." Denis said, grabbing your hand. "What? Why?" You asked, staying put. "Because it's getting late." "But everyone else is here. And it will be better for me to be social anyway." You protested. Denis sighed and rolled his eyes, "fine. But only 30 minutes or so." He said. You nodded your head and immediately ran over to where Alex, Sub and Braden were chatting. "Y/n!" Alex cheered, giving you a side hug. "Alex!" You smiled back. "Oh, hey Braden, how's your balls?" Sub asked "What?" He said, confused "When Kermit kicked you, remember? When you...you know." Sub teased Braden laughed and rubbed the back of his head, "That's not an appropriate conversation for right now." He said, making everybody laugh. Except for Denis, he had disappeared. "Uhm, excuse me, y/n?" A small voice said behind you You turned to see Jenny there, blushing like crazy. "Um, I know Sophia would have wanted you to have this" she put a teal colored beanie in you hands and you instantly put it on. "Come on and join in our conversation! We're talking about Braden's balls." Alex said, moving his eyebrows up and down, obviously interested in Jenny.
Of course, everybody missed Sophia. And it wouldn't be the same without her, but all is for the best, in the best of all possible worlds.
