the meal arrived a moment later. along with Mark's glass of white wine. i ate in silenc for a few moments. enjoying the tomatoey, salty flavor of the dish tease my taste buds.
i watched as Mak take slow sips from his glass. noting that the only other pair of customers were more than three tables away, i gave in to my curiousity and asked him;
" er... can't you guys really eat solid food? so what happens if you accidentally ate one?"
he shot me an annoyed look over the rim of his glass.
" have you learned nothing from David and Allen? mortal's food gives us no sustenance. and as for what happens when we do eat, i don't know. but according to those who've experienced it, they say it was quite unpleasant."
" right, so you what..? just throw it all up?" i asked, suddenly remembering Allen's story, when Master Jhin made him eat a whole piece of french bread as a punishment.
