the proctor of the sixth test made it perfectly clear that this is more than an ordinary sparring session.

for either of us to succeed, one has to draw blood. meaning, i have to inflict a serious wound on my opponent and vice versa, if we wanted to win.  so that the other will weaken to the point that he wouldn't be able to fight me again.

which wasn't a very, reassuring thought.

considering the fact that whoever the vamp was, might be at least, five times faster than me, and----judging  by the way he swung the thin sword right and left in the air against an invisible enemy,  was most certainly an expert in art.

he seemed lithe, and his moves absolutely done with quick precision.

even his fighting stance was a far cry from my, less than graceful, not to mention---pathetic attempts to fence.

his shoulders wer squared. chin just the right level to his neck. one knee crouched just a little on the right. the other foot behind it.
