As it was, i just strained my eyes into focus. keeping to mind something that Mark had said:
" all vampires, regardless of which type they belong, possess super - human speed. as such, they are almost impossible to be detected by human eyes. almost but not quite, if you put all your concentration on it, you would be able to notice that there's a shifting patern. your task is to find out what it is and follow it."
and that's just what i did. my opponent seemed to favor the left movement pattern, the amazing slice and dice technique that i had yet to perfect.
he makes that deceiving tactic of acting like he was going straight at you---which of course, makes me instinctively release a counter attack. only to be stumped and stupefied on my spot as he suddenly vanishes, and my sword strikes the thin air instead.
this also gives him the absolute advantage of swooping right down and with a graceful swinging motion. slash at the nearest opening--- my face!
i hadn't been fast enough to dodge it completely, but it left a deep gash on my upper arm, where it met the same shoulder and arm. creating a small puddle of blood on the earth-packed ground.
