i was almost beyond hope.
i didn't need to see the smug, taunting look on my opponent's face to realize that i was losing this fight.
my strength was slipping inch by slow inch. and i knew it would only be a matter of time before i either lost my grip on consciousness, or have death steal it entirely.
Yes, i was no longer ignorant of the undeniable fact that my opponent seemed hell-bent on killing me.
of that i was certain. what i don't understand is why he didn't just finish me off when we both knew he could easily have done so, was beyond me.
meybe he was just one of those, real sadists who were fond of prolonging his victim's misery.
David and Allen had rushed to my side. asking me if i was alright, and constantly scanning the perimeter for any signs of their cousin.
